Run it like you own it. Get paid like you do.
Alloy Personal Training Beaverton is hiring a Founding General Manager to launch one of Oregon's newest premium personal training studios. You will build the founding membership, hire the team, and run the business.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a proven General Manager, Studio Manager, Membership Sales Manager, Fitness Director, Club Manager, or Personal Training Manager who thrives on membership sales, team leadership, community engagement, and owning a number.
THE STUDIO
Alloy Personal Training — Progress Ridge Townsquare, 12345 SW Horizon Blvd, Beaverton, OR 97007.
Progress Ridge is one of the strongest retail centers on Portland's west side, in the heart of an affluent, health-conscious, high-homeownership community. An easy commute from Beaverton, Tigard, Tualatin, Sherwood, Lake Oswego, Hillsboro, Aloha, King City, and Southwest Portland.
ABOUT ALLOY
Since 1992, Alloy Personal Training has been redefining personal training through science-backed programming, accountability, and measurable results. With 300+ locations nationwide, Alloy is one of the fastest-growing premium personal training franchise systems in the country.
Our model is built for adults 40 and over. Sessions are appointment-based with a maximum 6-to-1 member-to-coach ratio, which creates a personal training experience that members stay with for years, not months. This is a premium, relationship-driven business, not a volume gym.
The work matters. Our members are people in their 40s, 50s, and 60s getting strong — often for the first time in decades — so they can carry their own groceries at 80, get on the floor with their grandkids, and say yes to the trip. You will watch it happen every day, and you will have built the place where it happens.
THE ROLE
You are the business leader of the studio. A separate Head Coach owns training quality and program delivery. You are not here to write programs or run sessions — you are here to build a business. That means four things:
- Sales and membership growth. You own the revenue number. Run the sales process end to end: lead generation, consultation booking, Starting Point Sessions, closing memberships, and building a referral engine.
- Member journey and retention. Own the experience from the first phone call to the year-three anniversary. Monitor engagement, catch at-risk members early, and build the community that keeps retention above 93%.
- Team. Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop the coaching team in partnership with the Head Coach. Manage staffing, scheduling, and daily operations. You set the standard for how this studio runs.
- KPIs and P&L. Leads, close rate, membership count, retention, and operating profit. You will know your numbers cold and report them like an owner — because your bonus is built on them.
YOUR FIRST MISSION: THE PRESALE
Before the doors open, you will run the presale campaign that builds our founding membership. This is the most important work you will do all year — and where a great GM separates from a good one. You will own the daily lead follow-up rhythm, the consultation booking process, and conversion accountability from day one, supported by Alloy's proven presale system and a dedicated campaign partner.
This is a hands-on founding role. The right leader is willing to make the calls, run the consultations, work the community events, follow up on every lead, and solve problems as they come.
COMPENSATION
$65,000–$75,000 base salary, depending on experience and fit, plus an uncapped performance bonus tied directly to membership growth and retention.
On-target earnings of $90,000–$100,000 as the studio fills, with strong performers earning into the $120,000+ range. Top Alloy studios nationally run well past their membership targets, and your bonus grows with every member above your goal. There is no ceiling on it.
Higher bonus rate when monthly retention is 95% or better. We pay more when members stay, because that is the business.
BENEFITS
- Tax-free health and dental benefit (ICHRA) toward the individual plan of your choice
- Paid time off, plus flexible scheduling
- Paid certification renewals and continuing education (CEUs)
- Complimentary Alloy membership and free workouts
- Paid training at Alloy Headquarters in Atlanta, GA
- Employee discount on retail and supplements
- Leadership and advancement opportunities as the studio succeeds — we are building for the long term, and the person who proves out this studio will be first in line for what comes next
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
This is a sales and operations leadership role. You do not need to be a personal trainer, and we are not looking for a coach who wants to manage. We are looking for an operator who happens to love fitness.
Required:
- 3+ years in a sales-driven service business (boutique fitness, health club, hospitality, premium retail, wellness, or membership sales) with a track record of owning and hitting a revenue target
- People leadership experience: hiring, developing, and holding a team accountable
- You know your numbers. In your last sales role you can tell us your targets, your close rate, and what you did when a number went the wrong way
- Availability for early mornings and some evenings on-site, plus occasional Saturdays
Preferred:
- Experience reading a P&L or owning a budget. If you haven't, we'll teach you — your bonus depends on it, so you'll want to learn
- Presale or new-location launch experience, boutique studio or membership-model management, CRM fluency, and roots in the Beaverton, Tigard, or greater Portland community
WHO THRIVES IN THIS ROLE
Candidates from Orangetheory Fitness, F45 Training, Club Pilates, CycleBar, Xponential Fitness, Burn Boot Camp, BODY20, The Exercise Coach, D1 Training, StretchLab, Pure Barre, Equinox, or another premium fitness or membership-based business are strong fits.
So is leadership experience from luxury hospitality, membership sales, premium retail management, med-spa and wellness, customer experience, or country clubs. If you have sold memberships and led a team, we want to talk.
WHY THIS ROLE IS DIFFERENT
Most GM jobs hand you a mature location and a binder. This one hands you a brand-new studio in one of the strongest retail centers on the west side, a proven national playbook, an owner who is deeply invested in your success — meets with you weekly on the numbers, then gets out of your way — and a compensation plan that treats you like a partner in the outcome. You will have more genuine autonomy in this seat than in almost any GM role in the metro. If the studio wins, you win, without a cap.
Build the team. Shape the culture. Launch the studio.
TO APPLY
Send a resume and a short note telling us about a revenue target you owned and what you did when you were behind on it. We read every one.
