Purpose of Position:
Facilitate, supervise and coordinate activities of all housekeeping and laundry personnel to ensure highest standards of comfort, cleanliness, service and quality exists for our guests.
General Summary:
The Head Housekeeper must be an adaptable person who is mature and capable of accepting responsibility and following through on assignments. Help support and fulfill the mission, vision, core values and goals of the Hotel. They must have excellent verbal, comprehension, listening and problem-solving skills. Must have interpersonal and time management skills, and guest relation skills. Must be able to organize, direct, and control the housekeeping department and give attention to details. The Head Housekeeper also provides proper cleaning and servicing of guestrooms and assigned work areas.
Critical Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of operational procedures used through the Hotel, State and ADA, regulations for the housekeeping department. Help to implement new policies and procedures.
2. Keep General Manager appraised of the organizational climate, identify problems either actual or anticipated, and communicate with the housekeeping staff.
3. Ensure an environment where teamwork and cooperation exist between all departments remembering you represent the hotel.
4. Establishes and maintains cost control systems for housekeeping payroll, guest room, linen and cleaning supply inventories; oversees the budgeting, ordering, and receiving of such supplies to maintain appropriate inventory levels necessary for efficient operation of the hotel.
5. Oversees the effective hiring, performance review, and training of employees to ensure the achievement of departmental productivity objectives and that service and quality standards are met.
6. Prepare work schedules and daily assignments to ensure the highest standards of the housekeeping department are met.
7. Maintain all required employee records such as Performance Reviews, Employee Status Forms and Timesheets.
8. Maintain security for guests and property by ensuring that room doors are locked at all times, keys are controlled, lost and found items are properly logged and securely stored, suspicious activity by guests or others is reported, and observes all security and safety regulations.
9. Assign rooms to housekeepers; ensure that carts are properly stocked and that all room cleaning and laundry work assignments are completed and ready for guests.
10. Compiles report information on housekeeping activities; and provides information to front desk on the status of guest rooms to ensure accurate and timely reporting on room availability.
11. Maintain guest room inventory daily, charging guest for missing items in room.
12. Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly inspection programs to ensure standards are being met and develop appropriate systems.
13. Report maintenance problems and furniture repair by completing work orders and follow through with the General Manager and maintenance staff to be sure of the accurate completion of all work.
14. Ensure that all housekeeping work environments are clean and in order.
15. Know the current status of all housekeeping projects, problems or people situations at any given time.
16. Insure all employees wear uniforms and nametags at all times and present themselves in a professional manner representing the hotel and its values.
17. Cleaning rooms to include, but not limited to (vacuuming; mopping floors; cleaning toilets, sinks and showers; making beds; dusting; stocking rooms with fresh linens).
18. Assign housekeepers to clean the ballroom(s), public bathrooms, lobby, business center, board room, exercise room, pool bathrooms, pool area and all other public areas.
19. Spot cleaning of carpets as needed.
20. Washing windows and window tracks as needed.
21. Deep cleaning of rooms as instructed.
22. Stocking housekeeping closets and carts, removing garbage and soiled linen from housekeeping carts and stations at the end of the day.
23. Assist co-workers as needed and function as a member of our team.
24. Comply with all safety requirements and policies of the hotel.
25. Keep current with all franchised housekeeping requirements and best practices.
26. Keep up to date with all brand required online training and certifications.
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
