Full Job Description

Our Mission: To discover treatments and a cure for ALS, and to serve, advocate for, and empower people affected by ALS to live their lives to the fullest. ALS Northwest provides support and resources for people living with ALS, their families, and caregivers living in Oregon and Washington.

Position Summary: ALS Northwest seeks a highly organized and detail-oriented Development Operations Coordinator to provide administrative and project support to the Development Director. This position plays a lead role in researching, writing, and managing foundation grants while ensuring the day-to-day operations of the development department run efficiently.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys bringing structure to complex projects. They take pride in keeping deadlines on track, producing polished written work, and ensuring the day-to-day operations of the development department run smoothly. They enjoy supporting others, working behind the scenes, and contributing to a mission-driven team through accuracy, consistency, and thoughtful stewardship. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in growing a career in nonprofit fundraising, grant writing, and development operations.

Responsibilities

GRANTS

· Manage the organization's annual grants calendar to ensure all deadlines are met.

· Research and identify prospective grant opportunities.

· Draft, edit, and submit grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and grant reports.

· Coordinate collection of program data and supporting materials needed for proposals and reports.

· Maintain grant records, deadlines, and funder correspondence within the donor database.

· Prepare grant acknowledgement letters and stewardship communications.

DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION

· Prepare, print, and mail donor acknowledgement letters, donor impact letters, and other stewardship correspondence.

· Assist with updating donor database

· Support donor stewardship activities including birthday cards, recognition efforts, and other routine correspondence.

· Provide administrative support to the Development Director to ensure timely completion of fundraising activities.

FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGNS

· Assist with coordination of three annual fundraising campaigns.

· Prepare acknowledgement letters and donor communications.

· Assist with gathering constituent stories as needed.

COMMUNICATIONS SUPPORT

· Assist with email communication drafting for newsletters, interest lists and events

· Schedule and post content to social media platforms

· Make routine website updates

· Assist with production of donor impact reports

Position Skills and Requirements

· 1-3 years relevant experience

· Excellent organizational, writing, and verbal communication skills

· Grant writing and/or research experience a plus

· Ability to main high level of confidentiality

· Ability to manage several projects simultaneously

· Goal-oriented with ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

· A comfort-level and understanding for people and families dealing with serious medical conditions.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
