Full Job Description

Phlebotomist – Travel Contract Assignment | Potsdam, NY | Up to $1,125/Week

Location: Potsdam, NY
Contract Length: 13 Weeks (Extension Possible)
Available Shifts:

Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM (5x7.5-Hour Shifts)
Night Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM (5x7.5-Hour Shifts)
Guaranteed Hours:
37.5 Hours/Week

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist for a 13-week travel contract assignment in Potsdam, NY. This opportunity offers day or night shifts in a 109-bed acute care hospital, providing services to both inpatient and outpatient populations.

Traveler Compensation Traveler Candidates (W2)

Weekly Gross: $1,087.50
Blended Rate: $29.00/hour
Taxable Rate: $15.00/hour
Weekly Non-Taxable Stipend: $525.00

Traveler Candidates (1099)

$30.00/hour
Weekly Pay: $1,125.00

Responsibilities

Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections for patients of all ages.
Collect, label, process, centrifuge, store, and transport laboratory specimens.
Follow CLSI-recommended order of draw and specimen handling protocols.
Perform blood cultures, finger sticks, heel sticks, neonatal screening, and glucose tolerance testing.
Prioritize STAT, timed, and routine specimen collections.
Maintain accurate documentation and laboratory data entry.
Follow infection control, quality assurance, and laboratory safety standards.
Float between inpatient and outpatient laboratory areas as needed.
Participate in weekend and on-call rotations.

Requirements

Minimum 1 year of Phlebotomy experience (Required)
Hospital and/or Outpatient Laboratory experience
Proficient with venipuncture, finger sticks, heel sticks, and specimen processing
Knowledge of blood collection tubes, anticoagulants, specimen preservation, and laboratory safety
Ability to work with neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
On-call and floating required

13-Week Contract
37.5 Guaranteed Hours/Week
Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Night Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Every Other Weekend Required
On-Call Required
Floating Required
Facility Size: 109 Beds
Patient Population: Inpatient & Outpatient
