Title: Asst, Controller - Temp-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $64-68/hour, paid weekly
Schedule: 8a-5p but may require working over 8 hours per day and have flexibility to work into the evenings when needed.
Assignment Length: Intention is to go perm after 90 days, dependent on performance, attendance, cultural fit and business need
Target Start Date: ASAP, likely early-July

POSITION SUMMARY
Russell Tobin is seeking an Assistant Controller / Order to Cash Manager who is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end order-to-cash process, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across customer invoicing, cash application, and collections activities. This role provides leadership to a team of operations and accounting professionals, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and partners cross-functionally to optimize financial processes and controls. The position also offers exposure to private equity-backed financial rigor, ERP implementation, and client cash account management.
What You'll Do
- Projects:
- Account reconciliations up to date
- Helping finish year-end audit
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the order-to-cash function, including billing, cash applications, account reconciliations, and collections.
- Oversee the accuracy and integrity of client cash accounts and related financial transactions.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of operations professionals, fostering accountability, efficiency, and collaboration.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, timeliness, and scalability of the order-to-cash cycle.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP, internal controls, and company financial policies.
- Partner with Accounting, FP&A, and Operations teams to streamline workflows, resolve issues, and align on financial reporting objectives.
- Prepare and analyze financial and operational reports to monitor performance, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.
- Support audit requests, system enhancements, and special projects related to order-to-cash and revenue cycle management.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and demonstrate a hands-on, "roll-up-your-sleeves” approach to problem-solving and execution.

- Demonstrated ability to track down information and data at a very granular level of detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong experience with using automation to reduce low value-added work.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervises a team of 5-10 accounting and/or order-to-cash professionals across the United States and the Philippines.
- Responsible for hiring, training, performance management, and professional development of assigned staff.
- Ensures team members understand and adhere to company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or order-to-cash operations.
- Proven experience in optimizing order to cash processes and improving efficiency.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel; experience with NetSuite (or similar ERP) and Claude AI.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field, preferred but not required.
- CPA preferred.
- Tax experience, such as reviewing sales tax returns.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Able to multi-task and prioritize work under competing demands.
