The Multimodality CT/Rad Technologist, under general supervision of a radiologist, is responsible for safely and efficiently performing routine and specialized imaging studies and procedures in both the CT and Diagnostic Radiology modalities with a thorough understanding of advanced computerized tomography (CT), Interventional CT procedures, power injector, (DI) Radiography, and Fluoroscopy inclusive of R/F rooms and C arms, PACS Image Archival, and Electronic Medical Record. Technologist will be assigned to either modality and/or can be expected to provide coverage support to both during same shift. Technologist will follow ALARA ionizing radiation safety methodologies to protect patient, self, and others.. Other responsibilities include a thorough understanding of department operations in order to assist non-technical staff by reviewing orders, processing paperwork, creating CD's, electronic image sharing with patients and other facilities, and expediting patient transportation.
Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.
Minimum Education: As required by certification and/or licensure
Preferred Education: Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology
Minimum Experience: 2 years directly related CT experience,
1 year DI Rad Technologist experience post DI Rad Technologist certification
Preferred Experience: 4 - 6 years directly related post licensure experience
Required Certification: Certified Radiologic Technologist CRT(R)
IV certification
American Heart Association recognized BLS - Healthcare Provider
Preferred Certification: Not Applicable
Required License: Certi Radiology Tech CRT(F)
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT(R)
Preferred License: Not Applicable
