Overview

Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), where your compassionate care and attention to detail will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents In this vital role, you will provide essential support to residents and clients, assisting with daily activities, monitoring health status, and ensuring their comfort and safety. Your energy and enthusiasm will help create a warm, respectful environment that promotes dignity and well-being for all individuals under your care. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic, supportive setting focused on geriatric, developmental disabilities, hospice, and memory care.

Duties

Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using patient transfer methods and equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
Monitor patient health by taking vital signs like blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature; document medical information accurately in medical records.
Support medication administration following proper protocols while maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Observe patients closely for changes in condition or behavior; report findings promptly to nursing staff or supervisors.
Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care techniques and behavioral management strategies.
Assist with catheter care, wound care, and other medical procedures as directed by licensed nurses or healthcare providers.
Support home healthcare services by helping with meal preparation, light cleaning, laundry, and ensuring a safe environment for clients receiving home & community care.
Practice patient transfer methods safely using appropriate equipment such as Hoyer lifts; assist with patient mobility and transfers to prevent falls or injuries.
Engage in patient communication with empathy and professionalism to foster trust and comfort during caregiving activities.
Follow all home health care regulations and safety protocols; participate in ongoing training such as first aid, CPR, basic life support (BLS), and hospice or end-of-life care when required.

Qualifications

Valid certification as a Nurse Aide (CNA) from an accredited program; active state certification required.
Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home healthcare settings is highly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia-related conditions.
Knowledge of medical terminology and medical documentation practices are helpful.
Strong understanding of patient personal care assistance techniques including hygiene, and mobility support.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and use patient transfer equipment properly; physical stamina to stand or walk for extended periods.
Familiarity with home health agency operations, hospice care principles, and home & community care standards is a plus.
Excellent communication skills to interact compassionately with patients, families, and healthcare team members while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as BLS are desirable.
