BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the general supervision of the Chief Technology Officer, assists in the development of policies, schedules, and procedures relating to specialized fields, assists in supervising staff and coordinating the installation of network/electronic equipment, maintenance/repair of network/electronic equipment, and performs related duties as required.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

Coordinates and oversees the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic systems (e.g. cameras, telephones, public address, intrusion alarms, audio visual and access control). (E)
Coordinates and oversees the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical locks (e.g. padlocks, cabinet locks, and door locks) and locksmith maintenance projects. (E)
Oversees the maintenance and repair of automatic door openers, door closing units, and control gates. (E)
Coordinates all fire inspections. (E)
Coordinates and monitors workflow of assigned staff. (E)
Coordinates and participates in fire prevention inspections by local fire district. (E)
Maintains current knowledge of California state fire codes as they relate to a school district.
Helps in all compliance issues related to the American Disabilities Act (ADA) for the District.
Assists with annual site inspections to comply with all Williams Act Laws.
Assists in personnel evaluation of assigned staff. (E)
Coordinator, Integrated Technology Systems
Conducts training for personnel as necessary.
Compiles, prepares, and presents oral and written management reports.
Responds to all emergency calls (after hours and on weekends).
Provides vacation and temporary relief as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education, Experience, Licenses, And Other Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Valid locksmith license preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years skilled experience working with any of the following systems: cameras, fire alarm, access control, intrusion alarms, audio visual, paging (IP paging preferred), phones (voice over IP preferred), understanding of building construction and computer networking.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of:
- The installation, maintenance and repair of electronic systems including cameras, telephones, intrusion alarms, fire alarm, access control, door locks, public address and other devices and equipment;
- Low voltage wiring standards and best practices;
- State and local fire codes;
- Laws and regulations pertaining to the Americans with disabilities act (ADA);
- Research methods and report writing techniques;
- Record keeping techniques;
- District organization, operations, policies, and procedures;
- Principles, practices, trends, goals, and objectives of public education;
- Modern technology and office procedures and methods, computer equipment, and computer applications including WORD and EXCEL as necessary to perform required duties;
- Oral and written communication skills, including English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, vocabulary, composition, and mathematics; and
- Principles of organization, supervision and training, laws, and rules
Ability to:
- Oversee a variety of skilled work in the installation, maintenance and repair of telephone, bell, security, fire alarm, public address and other electronic and communication systems, devices and equipment;
Plan, coordinate and supervise the work of subordinate personnel;
Understand and carry out oral and written instructions and communicate to others in a clear manner; both orally and in writing;

- Bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching, and reaching to retrieve and maintain files and records;
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate standard office equipment, computer keyboard, and other equipment necessary to complete the required duties;

- Physical activity may be required, which could include moderate lifting;
- Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person and on the telephone;
- Visual ability to read, prepare/process documents and to monitor various services and personnel;
