Bilingual Assistant / Translator (Part-time / as needed)

ABOUT NGSC:

North Gibson School Corporation proudly serves students and families from the communities of Princeton, Hazleton, Mt. Olympus, and Patoka, as well as the rural areas of northern Gibson County. We take pride in offering our students a tailored curriculum, developed locally by our professional teaching and administrative staff. Along with placing a high value on academics, we also take great pride in our extra-curricular and co-curricular activities, which provide many avenues for our students to be involved in their school community. Best of all, we are able to provide these excellent activities in some of the most up-to-date, technology rich facilities in the state of Indiana.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

Serve as an interpreter at any school function, session, or conference that requires this service
Translate any written communications that may be needed in the student or parent/guardian's home language
Assist in the enrollment process
Serve as a link between school and families
Assist in creating a welcoming environment for students and their families

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School graduate or equivalent
Exceptional fluency and literacy in both English and Spanish
Ability to speak effectively with staff, students, and community members

SUMMARY:

Part-time / as needed

Available to assist with meetings, conferences and other school functions both during the school day and evenings / weekends.
