Job Overview:
As a Multi-Modality Radiologic Technologist, you would be responsible for performing routine and specific specialized procedures at a level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail under the direction of a Radiologist. IV administration of contrast may be required depending on modality. This position includes staff who work in more than one specific modality. Can be a combination of the following: Diagnostic, CT, MRI, IR, NM, US, or Mammography.
Job Duties:
- Performs procedures at an appropriate level of competency.
- Performs IV injections using safe sterile technique when applicable.
- Responds to emergency call back if assigned.
- Perform quality assessment and control for modality.
- Assists with orientation of new staff and students.
- Keeps area supplied and clean.
- Performs office responsibilities when required.
- Participates in in-services.
- Monitors vital signs as necessary.
- Performs HIS, RIS and PACS functions as necessary.
- Maintains equipment to decrease downtime and overtime expense.
- Participates in performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives.
- Supervision includes technologists in orientation, radiology students when assigned, and diagnostic student aides.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required: Certifications/Licenses/Education:
- IR, CT, MRI, Diagnostic: The individual must be a graduate of a recognized Radiologic Technologist program or meet clinical experience, didactic course work and alternative eligibility as specified in the ARRT and/or ARMRIT application for certification instructions. Required or
- Mammography: Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology. Minimum of one year working experience as a radiographer. Employees may learn duties in 3 months. (This includes computer use). Required
