Full Job Description

The 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) Project Director provides leadership and oversight for the successful implementation and administration of the 21st Century Community Learning Center grant. This position is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality afterschool and summer programming that promotes academic success, youth development, family engagement, and positive outcomes for participating youth. The Project Director oversees grant implementation and compliance, program quality, staff supervision and professional development, data collection and reporting, fiscal management, and school and community partnerships. Working collaboratively with the Senior Director of Programs, school districts, community partners, families, and organizational leadership, the Project Director ensures all grant objectives, New Jersey Department of Education requirements, and organizational standards are achieved while supporting the mission and strategic goals of Boys & Girls Clubs of Mercer County.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Grant Administration & Compliance Provide leadership for the implementation and administration of the 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) grant in accordance with the approved grant application, New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) requirements, organizational policies, and applicable regulations. Ensure compliance with grant objectives, reporting requirements, performance measures, and fiscal guidelines. Maintain accurate grant documentation and oversee required reporting, including EWEG, PARS21, quarterly narratives, expense reports, and supporting documentation. Conduct regular monitoring of program operations to ensure compliance with organizational standards and continuous quality improvement. Collaborate with the Senior Director of Programs to address compliance concerns, implement corrective action plans, and prepare for grant monitoring and audits. Collaborate with the Development Department and organizational leadership on grant continuation applications, amendments, monitoring visits, and other grant related initiatives. Program Leadership & Quality Assurance Provide leadership and oversight for high-quality afterschool and summer programming across all assigned grant-funded sites. Ensure programming aligns with grant goals, organizational priorities, and the developmental needs of participating youth. Review curriculum, enrichment opportunities, field trips, and special events to ensure engaging and meaningful learning experiences. Monitor program quality through regular site visits, observations, and performance reviews. Utilize program data, participant feedback, and evaluation results to strengthen program effectiveness and outcomes. Develop and maintain annual program calendars, implementation timelines, and quality assurance processes that support successful grant implementation. Staff Supervision & Leadership Recruit, onboard, supervise, coach, and evaluate grant-funded staff. Conduct regular staff meetings, observations, and performance evaluations. Develop, coordinate, and support staff coaching and professional development opportunities that strengthen program quality and staff effectiveness. Ensure staff understand and comply with organizational policies, grant requirements, licensing standards, and youth development best practices. Foster a collaborative, trauma-informed culture that promotes accountability, continuous improvement, and positive youth development. Training & Professional Development Complete all required certifications, continuing education, and professional development in accordance with organizational, licensing, and grant requirements. Attend all required trainings, technical assistance sessions, conferences, workshops, orientations, meetings, and professional development opportunities to remain current on grant requirements, youth development best practices, and regulatory changes. Maintain current knowledge of federal and state regulations, out-of-school time programming, youth development, and evidence-based practices to support high quality program implementation. Apply knowledge and best practices gained through professional development to strengthen program quality, staff performance, grant compliance, and participant outcomes. Safety, Risk Management & Licensing Ensure all grant-funded sites maintain safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environments. Monitor compliance with organizational safety procedures, emergency protocols, licensing requirements, transportation procedures, and child protection policies. Review incidents, behavioral concerns, and safety issues to identify trends and implement preventative strategies. Support Site Coordinators in maintaining appropriate supervision ratios and safe program operations. Data, Evaluation & Fiscal Oversight Oversee collection, analysis, and reporting of attendance, enrollment, academic, and outcome data. Collaborate with the program evaluator to measure progress toward grant objectives and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Monitor grant expenditures and ensure purchases comply with approved budgets and grant requirements. Maintain accurate inventory and fiscal documentation for grant-funded resources. Utilize data to inform decision-making and improve participant outcomes.

School, Family & Community Partnerships Build and maintain collaborative relationships with school administrators, teachers, families, community organizations, and other stakeholders. Coordinate family engagement initiatives that support student success and strengthen community involvement. Facilitate the 21st CCLC Advisory Council and maintain ongoing communication with partners regarding program goals, progress, and outcomes.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
