Full Job Description

Front Desk & Scheduling Floater

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and flexible Front Desk & Scheduling Floater to provide operational support across our Somerset, Princeton, and Monroe locations, as well as our centralized scheduling department. This position is designed to fill staffing gaps, assist during high-volume periods, cover employee absences, and support daily operations wherever needed.

The ideal candidate will have prior medical office experience, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to different roles, providers, and office environments. This position requires regular travel between offices and cross-training in front desk, scheduling, and administrative functions.

Primary Responsibilities

Provide front desk coverage at Somerset, Princeton, and Monroe offices as assigned.
Provide scheduling department coverage during staff absences, vacations, and periods of high call volume.
Serve as a flexible resource to ensure uninterrupted patient care and office operations across all locations.
Greet and check in patients while ensuring all required documentation is completed.
Verify and update patient demographics, insurance information, and identification.
Collect copays, balances, and other payments at the time of service.
Check patients out, schedule follow-up appointments, process referrals, and enter charges according to provider documentation.
Answer incoming calls, schedule appointments, relay messages, and assist patients with inquiries.
Maintain and organize patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Reconcile daily payments and assist with administrative duties as assigned.
Support management with special projects and operational needs.

Adapt quickly to changing schedules and staffing requirements.
Maintain a professional, positive, and patient-focused demeanor at all times.
Work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-provider medical practice.
Maintain confidentiality of all patient and practice information.
Demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum 2 years of medical office experience required.
Previous experience in both patient registration and appointment scheduling preferred.
Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR); Eclincialworks experience strongly preferred.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Excellent computer and data entry skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Reliable transportation and ability to travel between Somerset, Princeton, and Monroe offices as needed.

Travel Requirement

This position requires regular travel between all practice locations and may require assignment to any office or department based on staffing and operational needs.

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
