We are looking for a creative, community-minded Program Coordinator to build, grow, and lead our public programming — from hands-on art workshops for kids to art and creativity series for older adults. This person will be the connective tissue between our museum and the broader community, forging partnerships, developing innovative programming, and ensuring every visitor — regardless of age or background — finds something that speaks to them here.
This is not a behind-the-scenes role. You will be the face of our programming in the community — presenting to large groups, appearing in local media, and building the kinds of relationships that bring new audiences through our doors year after year.
Required
Bachelor's degree in education, adult learning, counseling, psychology, human services, or a closely related field
Preferred
Master's degree in education, counseling, adult learning, or college student affairs — or equivalent combination of graduate education and professional experience
Primary responsibilities
Design, develop, and manage a year-round calendar of community programs spanning art education, wellness, humor, and lifelong learning — serving audiences from early childhood through senior adults.
Build and sustain relationships with community partners including schools, senior centers, healthcare organizations, local businesses, and cultural institutions to expand program reach and impact.
Recruit, coordinate, and support program facilitators, instructors, teaching artists, and volunteers to deliver high-quality, consistent experiences.
Actively promote programs through community outreach, public presentations, and grassroots relationship building — including comfort with local media such as television and radio appearances.
Design a variety of programming that integrates art, humor, and wellbeing for participants of all abilities and backgrounds.
Track enrollment, participant feedback, and program outcomes — using data to make informed decisions about programming priorities and resource allocation.
Research and pursue grant opportunities and community sponsorships in collaboration with the Executive Director.
Represent the museum at community events, conferences, and partner meetings with enthusiasm, warmth, and professionalism.
Develop curriculum, hire and manage program instructors and staff, and oversee day-of program operations end to end.
What we are looking for
Five or more years of experience developing and managing community programs across diverse age groups, with particular strength in older adult and youth programming.
Demonstrated ability to grow a program — not just maintain it. We want someone who sees what could exist and builds toward it.
A natural relationship builder who creates genuine, lasting connections with community partners, program participants, and colleagues at every level.
Strong background in educational programming — with the ability to assess participant needs, and design experiences that meet people where they are.
Comfort and confidence presenting to groups large and small, in formal and informal settings. Experience with community media (television, radio, public speaking) is a meaningful plus.
Self-directed and entrepreneurial — capable of managing multiple programs simultaneously, setting priorities, and working independently without close day-to-day supervision.
Experience developing curriculum and managing instructors or teaching staff.
Genuine passion for art, creativity, and the belief that humor and joy are essential to a well-lived life
Proficiency with program management tools and comfort working with enrollment data and participant metrics to inform decisions.
Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
