Support Staff Positions; New Steakhouse at The Union Hotel Flemington:

Reports to: General Manager and Jersey Prime Management Staff

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic expeditor/food runner to join our dynamic team in an upscale restaurant environment. The position plays a vital role in ensuring that our guests receive their orders promptly and with exceptional service. This position requires a passion for hospitality and an eagerness to contribute to a positive dining experience. If you’re ready to be part of a fast-paced, friendly team that takes pride in making guests happy, we’d love to meet you.

Key Responsibilities

· Coordinate the flow of food from the kitchen to the guests.

· Ensure every plate leaving the kitchen is accurate, properly garnished, and visually appealing.

· Communicate clearly with kitchen staff and servers to ensure smooth ticket times.

· Prioritize and organize incoming food tickets during busy periods.

· Check orders for accuracy, including modifiers, side items, and special requests.

· Help organize hot and cold items for dine-in and takeout orders.

· Keep the expo line clean, organized, and stocked with necessary tools and supplies.

· Communicate any delays, item shortages, or guest concerns to servers and management.

· Assist with to-go packaging or bagging when needed.

Skills & Qualifications

Build a strong, collaborative relationship with both the front-of-house management and kitchen teams, ensuring alignment of all business goals and initiatives.
Positive attitude, reliability, professionalism, and strong communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
Physical stamina for standing, walking, and lifting throughout shifts.

Working Conditions:

The worker is subject to extreme heat: Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions such as wind and humidity.
The worker is subject to noise: There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.

Physical Requirements:

Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time
Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly
· Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
· Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
