Accounting Manager – Skilled Nursing Healthcare Services - Hybrid Remote
Only Louisville Area Based Candidates Will Be Considered

About the Company

Hyper Care Management is a growing skilled nursing (SNF) healthcare services organization focused on operational excellence and financial integrity. Our accounting team plays a critical role in supporting business operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our team and contribute to our continued growth.

Position Overview

This is a hybrid position based in Louisville, Kentucky, with an expectation of working in the office approximately two to three days per week (50% overall). Additional in-office attendance may occasionally be required for training, meetings, and business needs. The Accounting Manager reports to the Director of Accounting and leads a team of Accountants responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of an assigned portfolio of skilled nursing facilities. This position oversees the monthly close, reviews financial statements and account reconciliations, supports facility and operational leaders, and ensures accounting work is completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with GAAP and company policies. The Accounting Manager also collaborates with peer Accounting Managers to promote consistent processes, strong internal controls, and high-quality service across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Review account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, financial statements, and variance explanations prepared by Accountants.
Identify unusual financial results, unresolved balance-sheet items, and reporting risks, and ensure timely follow-up.
Support internal and external audits by coordinating schedules, documentation, and responses.
Escalate material accounting, operational, staffing, or deadline concerns to the Director of Accounting.
Lead, coach, and develop assigned Accountants, including establishing expectations, assigning and reviewing work, providing timely feedback, supporting training and development, and participating in performance management and hiring activities.
Collaborate with the Director of Accounting and peer Accounting Managers to standardize processes, balance workloads, and maintain consistent service across the accounting organization.
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department for the manager’s assigned facility portfolio, including coordination of the monthly closing process.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Support internal reporting and financial analysis requests.
Collaborate with other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy; applying observations and recommendations to operational issues.
- Assist with process improvements and implementation of accounting procedures.
- Collaborate with accounting, finance, and operational teams across the organization.
- Participate in new-facility transitions, system implementations, special projects, and ad hoc financial analyses as assigned.

Qualifications

Strong working knowledge of GAAP, general accounting principles, financial reporting, and month-end close practices
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required; an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience may be considered
Active CPA license preferred
- Five or more years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in healthcare, senior living, multi-entity accounting, outsourced accounting, or another deadline-driven service environment. Skilled nursing accounting experience strongly preferred.
Two or more years of experience supervising, reviewing, or leading accounting professionals
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and financial analysis.
- Experience working with general ledger systems and financial reporting
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
