Assistant Director, Residential Supports

Reports to: Executive Director of Cedar Lake Residences

Locations: Louisville & La Grange, Kentucky

What you’ll do:

The Assistant Director of Residential Supports partners with leadership to oversee assigned residential homes and ensure high-quality, person-centered services. This position blends operational leadership, regulatory oversight, and direct support when needed to maintain continuity of care.

This role requires collaboration across departments and direct engagement with Individuals, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure outcomes align with Cedar Lake’s standards and mission.

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of Residential Level 1 homes including routine financial management, purchasing, physical maintenance, housekeeping, resident schedules, and transportation.
Collaborates with the Director of Residential Supports and the Executive Director regarding transitional planning and annual budgeting.
Ensures regulatory compliance. Maintains appropriate records and operations within state regulations and established CLR policy/procedures.
Represents the agency and its objectives through contact with various public, private, state, and local agencies, as designated by the Director of Residential Supports.
Works collaboratively with Individuals, families/guardians, and waiver teams regarding program status and benefit coordination.
Participate in Risk Management/Incident follow-up procedure to ensure client safety and incident prevention.
Responsible for advocating for Individuals in exercising their rights. Assist with educating staff on respecting individual’s rights.
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to address conflict resolution while ensuring person-centered planning for supported individuals. Utilizing best practices to encourage each Individuals’ ability to maintain or attain the highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
Encourages community participation and social integration. Provides guidance and direction on social, judgement, health, and safety issues.
Ensures that Direct Support Professionals coach or assist Individuals on daily living skills, personal hygiene, and personal financial responsibilities as needed. Assisting with medication administration process and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with recruiting and assisting with interviews, as well as evaluations and professional development of employees. Provide direct and indirect supervision of staff.
Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with the Individuals, visitors, families, peers, and other personnel.
Participates in CLR On Call Rotation. Assists with finding coverage for scheduling as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.

What sets you apart:

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferred. Will consider combination of education and relevant experience.
Supervisor experience is required. Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience is preferred.
Experience working with Individuals with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities is preferred.
Valid driver’s license is required.

What your typical schedule looks like:

Full-time, exempt/salaried, 40 hours per week. Usually Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings and weekend as needed. Must be available by phone during scheduled hours.
