We are currently seeking a Memory Care Director at our Dallas - Prestonwood community. In this role, you will be responsible for the coordination of all resident care and staffing of Memory Care services.. This role also manages daily operations including scheduling services, handling communications and clerical tasks, maintaining security protocols, and responding to emergencies as needed.
The Memory Care Director reports directly to our Healthcare Director who oversees day to day operations of the community's Concierge department.
Must have two years of management experience, working with persons with Alzheimer’s and dementia.
Responsibilities...
- Coordinate care for all residents by creating an environment and flow to the day that matches each resident's physical and cognitive needs.
- With support from social programming, ensure all memory care staff are trained to provide programming and activities to ensure proper engagement (activities) at all times.
- Communicate with community healthcare professionals, including physicians, discharge planners, nurses, and state agencies on the care needs of residents as needed.
- Participate in community's resident assessment program in accordance with company policy and state regulations. Provide input to Healthcare Director regarding Memory Care resident pre-admission assessments and reassessments.
- Coordinate departmental schedule and ensure adequate staffing in accordance with company standards, policies, procedures, budgets, and state law.
- Arrange for coverage of job duties within the department during employee absences through either delegation or personal completion of duties.
- Responsible for ensuring MC staffing is up to date on OnShift.
- On-call rotation with the Healthcare Director and Assisted Living Director.
- Interface with pharmacy/family to ensure orders are accurate.
- New hire orientation – ensure the process is finalized and coordinate duties effectively.
Required...
- Graduate of an accredited program for licensed vocational/practical nurses
- Current Texas LVN license.
- Knowledge of Alzheimer's and other types of dementia; provide documentation on certifications and related continuing education
- At least two-years of experience working with residents with dementia
- Be passionate to providing a high-quality of customer service and resident satisfaction
- Organized, excellent communication, follow through, able to work as a part of a team and solution-orientated
