Full Job Description

Accounting / HR

Chukar Cherries is a family-owned food and gift manufacturing company based in Prosser, WA for over 35 years. We are looking for an Accountant to maintain and improve our accounting and HR departments. This position is responsible for maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, payroll, and tax reporting.

Responsibilities:

Manages all aspects of accounting; billing, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue recognition, and various special analyses
Review and reconcile ledgers, statements, journal entries, and balance sheets for accuracy
Maintain accounts by recording, identifying and verifying financial transactions
Cash Management functions including posting and reconciliation of transactions and statements.
Payroll processing and reconciliation
Ensure timely and accurate financial data and preparation of financial reports including monthly and year end close
Ensure that all policies and controls are intact to support operations.
Contribute to team by assisting with other projects as needed.

Qualifications:

High school diploma and 4+ years of relevant work experience or relevant Associate’s degree and 3+ years of relevant work experience.
Solid understanding of cost accounting and analysis
Detail-oriented, accurate, determined in every project
Ability to work independently, prioritize and organize responsibilities, meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
Prior payroll & accounting software experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Training/Education: 2 year degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Operations, or Supply Chain Management.
Acute attention to detail.
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Energetic. Must be able to excel in a fast paced environment.
Microsoft Office. Typing 50 wpm.
Bi-lingual a plus.

It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range. The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as overtime, lead premiums, or bonus opportunities.

Pay: $53,560.00 - $72,280.00 per year
