Full Job Description

We are an independent, non-profit home healthcare and hospice nursing agency with a rapidly growing patient census in RI and we’re looking to add a positive, energetic, and experienced professional RN to our team! We're searching for an Admissions RN to admit new patients assigned daily by our busy Intake and Scheduling department. On days where there are not many admissions to complete, the Admissions RN will help to complete revisits in the field. The Admission Nurse will work as a field RN based out of our Middletown or North Kingstown, RI offices.

Job Specifications:

Full time / Hourly Pay / 40 Hours Per Week / Non-Exempt
Every 4th weekend and every other minor holiday required
Home Office: Middletown or North Kingstown, RI
Currently servicing primarily home health, hospice & palliative care patients in service areas that include the following towns/cities of RI: Jamestown, Prudence Island, Newport, Middletown, Portsmouth, Tiverton, Little Compton, Bristol, Warren, Barrington, Riverside, RI, East Providence, Providence, North Providence, Pawtucket, Johnston, Cranston, Warwick, West Warwick, Coventry (not including Greene), East Greenwich, North Kingstown, and Saunderstown
Also, currently servicing some home health, hospice & palliative care patients in southeastern MA including the towns/cities of Rehoboth, Seekonk, Swansea, Somerset, Fall River, Adamsville, & Westport, MA

Annual Stipends Available For Those Qualified (Up to 3 Separate Stipends):

If you have a BSN
If you have a Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care
If you have a Wound Care Certification

The Ideal candidate:

Would meet our qualifications, as well as provide professional, compassionate, skilled nursing care to our patients and their families in accordance with the policies and procedures of Visiting Nurse Home & Hospice.
Give care in a manner that promotes quality, comfort, care, and safety for the patient and their family and/or caretaker at every visit.
Make initial and ongoing assessments of the patient/family needs and carries out interventions in accordance with National Association of Hospice and Palliative Care Standards, the interdisciplinary plan of care and agency policy.
Completes all necessary admission forms and other forms required for each visit with a patient.
Reports to and is directed by a Hospice Clinical Manager.

Education and Experience:

Graduate of a school of nursing accredited by NLN:
Either from a Baccalaureate or Master's degree program in Nursing, or;
From a state approved diploma or Associate's degree program in Nursing
Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience, preferably in hospice or home care.
Completion of Hospice Staff Training in lieu of hospice experience.
Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Rhode Island. Massachusetts Nursing License to be obtained within one year of employment if not held at time of hire.
Current certification in CPR.
