Job Description We are seeking a Systems Administrator to join our team in response to the exciting growth of our company. This candidate will help troubleshoot and solve issues for existing or new technical implementations at the company. This role will also be a resource for our Helpdesk for complex issues but will also maintain a portfolio of projects to help support the needs of the business. This position will work closely with stakeholders across different business areas to ensure we deliver excellent solutions and superior internal and external customer service. The optimal candidate will possess a breadth of knowledge and experience across networking, systems, and security operations.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Systems Security Administrator to support our goal of continuously strengthening our security posture across endpoint, server, network, cloud, and identity platforms. This role will be hands-on and operational, working closely with internal technology teams and third-party security partners to ensure our systems remain secure, resilient, and compliant in a healthcare-regulated environment.
This position supports a hybrid workforce spanning on-premises, remote, and cloud-based systems and will play an active role in both day-to-day security operations and strategic security initiatives, including incident response readiness, ransomware recovery positioning, and compliance alignment.
Key Responsibilities
Endpoint, Server, and Device Security
- Configure, manage, and monitor endpoint security for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android devices
- Maintain secure configurations for servers (on-prem and cloud) using industry hardening standards
- Manage patching and vulnerability remediation across endpoints, servers, and infrastructure
- Support MDM configuration and security enforcement for mobile device compliance
Identity, Access, and Zero Trust Controls
- Administer identity and access controls across users, devices, and services
- Support identity protection, conditional access, MFA, and privileged access workflows
- Apply security best practices for AI agent identities and non-human workloads (service principals, managed identities, API tokens)
Network, Firewall, and Edge Security
- Help support the management of firewall and edge security rules, monitoring, and maintenance
- Support secure access for remote and hybrid users
- Provide input on network segmentation, VPN, and secure connectivity patterns
Cloud, Application, and API Security
- Secure workloads in cloud environments
- Support the security of public-facing web applications and APIs
- Collaborate with engineering teams to validate secure configurations and access patterns
Data Protection, Governance, and Compliance
- Support the implementation and maintenance of Data Governance, DLP, and information protection controls
- Help design methodology for data classification, retention, and compliance workflows
- Support healthcare regulatory requirements, including HIPAA-aligned safeguards
Security Operations & Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate with MDR and other third-party security vendors to ensure coverage and visibility
- Review alerts, findings, and recommendations; drive remediation to closure
- Assist with security tooling optimization and gap analysis
Incident Response & Resilience
- Provide input into Incident Response, ransomware recovery, and disaster recovery planning
- Participate in tabletop security exercises and post-incident reviews
- Support documentation, runbooks, and continuous improvement efforts
Change Management & Documentation
- Maintain and update security policies, standards, and technical documentation
- Participate in change control processes to ensure security-impacting changes are reviewed, approved, and auditable
- Contribute to security runbooks, diagrams, and control evidence to support audits and operational continuity
Automation & Scripting
- Leverage scripting or automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python, or equivalent) to support security operations, reporting, or configuration consistency
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort while maintaining clear controls and auditability
Compliance & Framework Support
- Assist with maintaining alignment to SOC 2, HITRUST, NIST, CIS, and HIPAA frameworks
- Support audits, evidence collection, and control validation
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Background in endpoint, server, and cloud systems administration
- Hands-on experience securing on-prem, remote, and hybrid environments
- Familiarity with security tooling and Windows operating systems
- Experience supporting Apple (macOS/iOS) and Android devices
- Working knowledge of cloud security fundamentals
- Experience collaborating with third-party security vendors
- Strong understanding of modern identity and zero-trust concepts
- Practical experience securing web applications and APIs
- Comfortable working in a regulated healthcare environment
Preferred / Plus Qualifications
- Experience with data governance solutions (DLP, information protection, retention)
- Exposure to using and securing AI-related workloads or service identities
- Experience supporting SOC 2, HITRUST, NIST, CIS, or HIPAA compliance
- Security or systems certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CISM, or related cloud/security certifications
