Full Job Description

ROLE
We need an experienced Paralegal to support the U.S. Department of Justice with healthcare fraud and opioid-related cases. This is a full-time opportunity in which we’ll provide competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and job stability and security. Apply today!

RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform standard legal support job responsibilities
Assist with pleadings, discovery, briefs, bankruptcy petitions, etc.
Perform critical thinking and analytical activities
Review legal instruments
Verify that legal information is complete and accurate
Confirm that legal information is ready for proper execution
Assist attorneys and legal support staff
Conduct legal research for cases
Gather facts for cases and routine reports
Use legal databases for research and discovery
Evaluate and determine the correction of an action
Research legal records to ascertain conditions that might preclude an action
Help with scanning, exporting and importing data, etc.
Perform initial review of petitions
Support case management
Maintain case files
Prepare memorandums, reports and correspondence
Take notes and prepare follow-on documentation
Work with technologies such as but not limited to IPRO, CaseMap, QuickBooks, and Microsoft

BACKGROUND

Progressive and relevant experience

EDUCATION

Paralegal Certificate
Strong preference for an Associate degree or some college education
Preference for Bachelor’s degree

LOCATION

Providence, RI 02903

TELEWORK

Up to two (2) days per week

CLEARANCE

U.S. citizenship required since this role supports the U.S. federal government

CLIENT

No travel required

WORK HOURS

40 hours per week
8 hours per day
