Full Job Description

Telecommunications Field Data Collector

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Telecommunications Field Data Collector to assist with gathering information on telephone poles and telecommunications infrastructure.

In this position, you will travel to designated areas, walk along roads and properties, and collect accurate field data related to utility poles. Information may include pole locations, identification numbers, equipment, attachments, and other infrastructure details. Training and instructions will be provided.

Responsibilities:

Walk and inspect designated areas to locate telephone and utility poles
Collect and accurately record information about poles and telecommunications equipment
Use a smartphone, tablet, GPS, or other field-data collection tools
Take photographs and document field conditions as required
Follow assigned routes and complete daily data-collection goals
Work independently while maintaining accurate and consistent records
Communicate any unusual conditions or issues encountered in the field

Requirements:

Must be comfortable walking many miles per day, often outdoors and in varying weather conditions
Ability to navigate assigned areas and follow maps or GPS directions
Reliable transportation to and from assigned work areas
Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record information
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Previous telecommunications, utility, surveying, or field-data collection experience is a plus, but training may be available
