Full Job Description

$20,000 Sign-on Bonus!

As Rhode Island’s largest health system and private employer, Brown University Health is committed to clinical excellence and devoted to our mission of building a healthier future for our communities. We are seeking a full-time MRI Manager to provide daily clinical and operational leadership within the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) section and supervise up to 65 full-time employees (FTEs) at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. Under supervision of the Director/Medical Director of the division, in this role you will manage the clinical and operational activities of the section and make decisions that effectively address personnel management, use of resources, quality of services and fiscal management. The annual pay range for this role is $105,019.20-$173,264.00.

Responsibilities:

Provide input and assistance in the planning and development of goals for the department and supporting policies and procedures for the section
Interview new hires and evaluate and work with new personnel during the probationary period to determine individual skill levels and potential for permanent employment
Research information required to prepare departmental budgets and work with the Director to finalize capital and operating budgets for the year
Make operational changes as needed to optimize resources measured against demands for timely, high-quality services and write work schedules for assigned staff that supports evolving department and Brown University Health philosophies
Ensure the proper calibration, maintenance and repair of all equipment and work with vendors and hospital personnel to secure records and documentation regarding equipment maintenance and calibration
Work with Clinical Instructors and Program Directors to provide a suitable clinical experience for student learning and provide ongoing education for technical staff through in-service training, seminars, etc.
Keep current with new procedures, imaging protocols, equipment, methods, and practices and evaluate the application of new procedures for clinical use

Qualifications:

Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Completion of accredited training program in an approved School of Radiology Technology, plus registration through the American Registry for Radiology Technologists or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
3+ years of relevant department knowledge and leadership experience required
Demonstrated critical thinking skills to plan and direct operations and to effectively provide input on future goals and objectives in the department
