Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sous Chef/Line Cook to join our vibrant culinary team. Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with precision, consistency, and attention to detail, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards.
Supervise kitchen staff during shifts, providing guidance on food preparation, cooking techniques, and sanitation procedures to maintain a smooth workflow.
Oversee food production processes, ensuring timely delivery of dishes that meet quality standards for both dine-in and catering events.
Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies as needed, and minimizing waste through effective food management practices.
Enforce food safety protocols including sanitizing procedures, proper food handling, and hygiene standards to ensure compliance with health regulations.
Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences to enhance the dining experience.
Support the dietary department by accommodating special dietary needs and ensuring all meals are prepared safely and accurately.
Lead shift management activities such as scheduling staff, overseeing service flow, and maintaining a positive team environment focused on hospitality excellence.
Collaborate with restaurant management on cost control initiatives, including portioning accuracy and minimizing food waste.
Contribute to a lively kitchen atmosphere that promotes teamwork, leadership, and continuous improvement in culinary skills.

Qualifications

Proven experience in fine dining environments with strong culinary skills; banquet and catering experience is highly desirable.
Supervising experience within a fast-paced kitchen setting; previous team management is essential.
Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures, inventory management, and food handling regulations.
Demonstrated ability in food preparation, cooking techniques, menu planning, and kitchen management.
Experience with food service management including shift coordination, cost control, and inventory control systems.
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage teams effectively while fostering a positive work environment.
Background in dietary department operations or hospital/healthcare food services is a plus.
Excellent communication skills coupled with a passion for hospitality and customer service excellence.
Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
