Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Clerk to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing essential accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial data entry, and supporting the overall financial health of our organization. Your expertise will help maintain compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and governmental accounting standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in corporate and public accounting within a fast-paced environment that values precision and efficiency.

Responsibilities

Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of financial transactions using QuickBooks
Perform accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end closing processes in accordance with GAAP standards.
Assist in payroll processing tasks.
Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities.
Support budgeting processes and tax preparation activities.

Requirements

Proven experience with QuickBooks.
Strong understanding of GAAP principles.
Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; proficiency in 10 key typing and double entry bookkeeping is essential.
Ability to perform account reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger accounting efficiently.
Strong analytical skills combined with a solid foundation in financial concepts like debits & credits, account analysis, budgeting, and credit analysis.
Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments; detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
