Mountain Dog Lounge is seeking an experienced Dog Trainer to join our growing team in Heber City, Utah.
This is more than a dog training position. We're looking for someone who is passionate about improving the lives of dogs through training, enrichment, wellness, and education while helping us expand our training department and exciting new programs.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Training is the primary responsibility of this position. However, full-time trainers should expect to assist in other areas of the business when training appointments are lighter, including:
- Pet Taxi transportation
- Reception duties
- Grooming assistant duties
- Bathing dogs
- Facility cleaning and organization
- Client communication and support

TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct private lessons and Day Academy programs
- Perform behavioral assessments and temperament evaluations
- Develop individualized training plans and track progress
- Teach obedience, manners, impulse control, confidence-building, recall, and behavior modification skills
- Educate owners on maintaining success at home
- Communicate progress with clients and management
- Maintain detailed training records

Our K9 Hiking Program will focus on small-group adventure hikes, structured enrichment, recall training, and safe off-leash experiences on private land.
Experience with recall training, off-leash reliability, group dog management, behavior modification, adventure-based enrichment, Service Dog training, or Therapy Dog training is highly valued.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Previous dog training experience preferred
- Strong understanding of canine behavior and learning theory
- Comfortable working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Dependable, professional, and team-oriented
- Passionate about dog welfare and enrichment
- Comfortable educating and coaching pet owners
- Willing to continue learning and grow with our program
- Valid driver's license preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- Able to safely handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- Able to work outdoors during training and hiking activities
- No dog-related allergies that would prevent working directly with dogs

PAY & BENEFITS
Pay: $16.00–$18.00 per hour depending on experience
Bonus pay and tips on top of hourly rate.
