Full Job Description

Junior Engineer/Designer

Location- (Central Utah area Orem, UT) Hybrid Remote Eligible

Overview: We are seeking Junior Civil Engineer/Designer for land development projects for private and public sector clients. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, ability to work independently and within a team environment, Assist the senior project manager with achieving customer driven timelines and deliverables. Candidate should have a basic knowledge of stormwater design including working with HEC-RAS software or equivalent for stormwater design and be able to provide markups for grading and drainage that meet current code requirement for runoff and ADA requirements. Assisting Senior Project Manager with coordinating with external partners (surveyors, traffic, Geotech, environmental consultants) and managing design teams is essential.

Responsibilities:

Assist the Senior Project Manager in managing land development projects from concept through construction, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget.
Prepare and review plans in collaboration with drafters; assign tasks, monitor workload, and ensure deliverables meet project standards.
Coordinate internal team and workload and review plans for quality control and accuracy.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and permitting requirements (local, state, and federal).
Assist with stormwater design (including HEC-RAS or equivalent), grading, erosion control, and runoff calculations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
1-3 years of design experience in civil engineering, with emphasis on grading, stormwater, soil erosion control, and land development.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
Familiarity with HEC-RAS (or equivalent), grading practices, and local permitting processes.
EIT/FE certification (or active pursuit); willingness to pursue licensure (PE) as a growth objective.
Basic knowledge of drainage design, runoff calculations, and ADA requirements.

Benefits:

Salary range: $65,000 to $85,000, commensurate with experience.
Health Insurance Stipend
Paid time off: 2 weeks vacation; holidays and sick leave per policy.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
