INSULATION INSTALLATION TECHNICIAN - TAP INSULATION SPECIALIST
POSITION TITLE: Insulation Installation Technician (TAP Specialist)

ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Insulation Installation Technician to join our growing team at BRD Pest Solutions. In this role, you'll install TAP (Thermal, Acoustical, Pest Control) insulation in residential attics, walls, and crawl spaces throughout Utah. This is a hands-on position combining technical expertise with customer service excellence.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate specialized insulation blowing equipment to install loose-fill TAP insulation into attics and walls
- Prepare work areas by installing barriers around heat sources, ensuring proper ventilation clearance, and protecting living spaces
- Install attic rulers and maintain even insulation depth according to R-value specifications
- Apply TAP insulation over existing insulation or as the sole insulation in new construction
- Conduct pre-installation inspections and assessments to determine optimal installation approach
- Maintain equipment in proper working condition and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues
- Follow safety protocols and EPA guidelines for boric acid-treated insulation products
- Communicate professionally with homeowners and provide on-site education about TAP benefits
- Maintain clean work areas and leave no debris or installation waste
- Meet productivity targets and scheduling requirements
- Document completed jobs and maintain accurate work records
ABOUT TAP INSULATION:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to work at heights and in confined attic/wall spaces
- Physical capability to perform repetitive bending, lifting, and standing (frequent lifting up to 50 lbs)
- Attention to detail and ability to follow technical specifications
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Willingness to work in dusty, warm, and sometimes uncomfortable conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Ability to communicate clearly with customers
- Comfortable learning new systems and equipment
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Primarily working in residential attics, walls, and crawl spaces
- Exposure to insulation dust and boric acid-treated material (safe when handled properly)
- Heights and confined spaces
- Hot and cold working conditions depending on season
- Early morning start times (typically 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
- Must be able to work weekends occasionally
- Vehicle provided for job site travel within Utah service area
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift and carry 50+ lbs regularly
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
- Ability to crawl and work in confined spaces
- Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods
- Good balance and coordination
- Clear vision and hearing
- No severe allergies to dust or cellulose materials
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
