About the Position
MWI is seeking experienced Traveling Journeyman Ironworkers to join our team. Our work is primarily performed at mine sites and other industrial locations throughout the region and beyond. This position is ideal for a skilled ironworker who is comfortable traveling, working in demanding industrial environments, and maintaining a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Traveling employees are eligible for daily per diem and travel pay in accordance with MWI company policy and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural and miscellaneous ironwork at mine sites and industrial construction projects.
- Erect, install, align, and secure structural steel, equipment supports, platforms, stairs, handrails, and related components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, layouts, and specifications.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, rigging equipment, and other job-related equipment.
- Perform welding, bolting, fitting, rigging, and structural assembly as required.
- Work safely at heights and in challenging industrial and mining environments.
- Follow all project requirements, company policies, and applicable MSHA safety standards.
- Participate in safety meetings, job hazard analyses, inspections, and required training.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Work effectively as part of a crew while maintaining professional communication with supervisors, coworkers, and customers.
- Travel to various mine sites and job locations as project schedules require.
Qualifications
- Journeyman-level experience in structural or industrial ironwork.
- Strong knowledge of structural steel erection, rigging, fitting, and installation.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and construction drawings.
- Ability to safely work at heights and in industrial and mine-site environments.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively for work.
- Ability to work varying schedules, including overtime, extended shifts, and occasional weekends as project demands require.
- Must be able to meet site-specific safety and access requirements.
- Must be dependable, safety-minded, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.

Travel & Compensation
- Traveling position with work primarily performed at mine sites
- Daily per diem provided for qualifying travel assignments

Physical Requirements
The successful candidate must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, including:
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling heavy materials and equipment.
- Standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and working in confined or elevated areas.
- Working safely at heights and in varying weather and job-site conditions.
- Wearing required personal protective equipment for extended periods.

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
