This position requires an immediate, full-time, on-site presence in Heber City, Utah, for the remainder of an active project, which is expected to conclude within the next 3-4 months. Following project completion, the position will support projects throughout the Western United States.
Job Description
Global Rock Works is North America's first rope-access-certified geohazard mitigation company, delivering specialized slope stabilization, rockfall mitigation, drilling, and difficult-access construction services throughout Western North America.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to lead field operations across multiple projects while mentoring field leadership and driving safe, high-quality project execution. This is a senior leadership position responsible for developing crews, supporting project planning, and ensuring operational excellence from mobilization through project completion.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to Superintendents and field crews.
- Partner with the Operations Manager and Project Manager to develop execution strategies and project schedules and oversee field operations
- Foster a positive, high-performance culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Assist Operations with evaluating and developing field personnel.
- Resolve field issues quickly while maintaining project schedules and client expectations.
Safety Leadership
- Champion Global Rock Works' safety culture on every project.
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA regulations, company policies, client requirements, and site-specific safety plans.
- Lead incident investigations, corrective actions, and safety coaching.
- Conduct field audits, inspections, and safety observations.
- Ensure all crews complete the required pre-task planning, JHAs, toolbox talks, and documentation.
- Maintain the highest standards of equipment inspections and safe work practices.
Project Execution
- Review drawings, specifications, work plans, and project schedules
- Coordinate equipment, materials, logistics, and workforce requirements.
- Monitor project productivity, budgets, schedules, and field performance.
- Identify and resolve constructability issues before they impact production.
- Support Project Managers with project forecasting and operational planning.
- Maintain strong communication between field operations, project management, and clients.
Quality Control & Documentation
- Ensure all work meets engineering specifications, QA/QC requirements, and client expectations.
- Review daily reports, drill logs, production tracking, safety documentation, and project records.
- Verify that documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
- Maintain project records, equipment logs, and field documentation.
Client Relations
- Serve as the senior field representative for Global Rock Works.
- Build strong relationships with owners, engineers, inspectors, and client representatives.
- Participate in coordination meetings and project planning discussions.
- Promote professionalism and exceptional customer service on every project.
Equipment & Resources
- Ensure proper utilization, maintenance, and care of company equipment.
- Coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance with Operations.
- Assist with equipment planning and mobilization for upcoming projects.
- Monitor inventory, tooling, and material requirements.
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of supervisory experience (Superintendent or equivalent leadership role) in geohazard mitigation, heavy civil construction, mining, rope access, or remote construction.
- SPRAT or IRATA Certification preferred
- OSHA 30
- Extensive experience operating pneumatic wagon drills and hydraulic drills, including John Henry and Word Drill attachments or similar. Proficient with top-hammer and down-the-hole (DTH) drilling systems, as well as casing drill operations, including duplex drilling and dual-rotary methods
Experience with:
- Soil nail installation
- Rock bolting and dowel installation
- Cable lashing
- Rockfall barriers and attenuators
- Draped mesh systems
- Hand and mechanical scaling
- Excavator-mounted drill rigs
- Grout plants
- Helicopter-supported operations (preferred)
- Shotcrete (ACI Nozzleman Preferred.)
- Strong understanding of engineered drawings, specifications, and construction sequencing.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
- Valid driver's license

- $50.00 daily per diem
Pay: $52.00 - $58.00 per hour
