Full Job Description

Mosida Market is seeking 3 reliable and hardworking employees to fill the following roles.

Slaughter/ Kill Floor Hand - This is a hands-on position requiring physical stamina, attention to detail, a strong commitment to sanitation and safety, and a willingness to work as part of a team.
Butcher - The ideal candidate takes pride in quality workmanship, understands proper meat-handling practices, and can work efficiently. All qualifications are preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate.
Wrapper - This position is responsible for preparing, packaging, labeling, and presenting meat products for customers while maintaining high standards for cleanliness, quality, and food safety.

SEE BELOW FOR INTERESTED POSITION

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SLAUGHTER/KILL FLOOR

Assist with the humane and efficient handling of livestock throughout the slaughter process.
Assist butchers and slaughter personnel with carcass preparation, movement, and processing.
Perform assigned tasks such as hide removal, carcass handling, cleaning, trimming, and equipment preparation as trained.
Maintain clean and sanitary work areas, tools, and equipment throughout the processing operation.
Follow all food-safety, sanitation, workplace-safety, and company procedures.
Handle meat and carcasses carefully to maintain product quality and prevent contamination.
Clean and sanitize processing areas and equipment according to established procedures.
Safely operate or assist with appropriate tools and equipment after training.
Communicate effectively with team members and follow directions from supervisors and butchers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR BUTCHER

Break down beef, pork, poultry, and other products into retail cuts according to company standards.
Perform cutting, trimming, portioning, deboning, grinding, and other meat-preparation tasks.
Prepare steaks, roasts, chops, ground products, specialty cuts, and other customer-ready products.
Maintain consistent portion sizes, appearance, quality, and yield.
Inspect meat for quality, freshness, proper trim, and appropriate presentation.
Assist with custom cutting and customer requests when needed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary cutting and processing area.
Properly clean, sanitize, maintain, and safely use knives, saws, grinders, slicers, and other equipment.
Follow all food-safety, sanitation, workplace-safety, and company procedures.
Work closely with meat wrappers, slaughter staff, and management to maintain an efficient workflow.
Help monitor inventory and minimize waste while maximizing usablecandidate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR WRAPPER

Wrap, package and label fresh meat products accurately and efficiently.
Prepare meat for display and maintain an attractive, well-stocked meat case.
Inspect products for quality, freshness, proper packaging, and accurate labeling.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area in accordance with food-safety standards.
Rotate product using proper dating and inventory practices.
Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing meat products and supplies.
Follow all company procedures for food handling, sanitation, safety, and quality control.
Provide friendly, professional service to customers when needed.
Work cooperatively with butchers, slaughter staff, and other employees.
Able to lift up to 50lbs and move boxes or product as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Previous slaughterhouse, meat-processing, farm, ranch, or similar experience is preferred but not required.
Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physically demanding tasks.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Comfortable working in cold, wet, and fast-paced processing environments.
Able to stand, bend, lift, carry, and perform repetitive physical work for extended periods.
Willingness to learn proper handling, sanitation, safety, and processing procedures.
Must be able to follow instructions carefully and consistently.
