Full Job Description

Job Overview
As an Animal Care Associate, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of animals in our care. This position requires a compassionate individual who is dedicated to providing excellent animal care and support. You will work closely with a team of professionals to maintain a safe and nurturing environment for all animals, while also assisting with various tasks related to their daily needs.

Duties

Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff.
Assist with animal restraint during examinations or treatments as needed.
Maintain cleanliness in animal living areas, including kennels and exercise spaces.
Support training efforts through basic obedience commands and socialization exercises.
Help with the administration of medications
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and best practices in animal handling.

Skills
The ideal candidate should possess a combination of the following skills:

Experience in veterinary settings or as a veterinary technician.
Knowledge of animal care practices, including proper feeding, grooming, and exercise routines.
Familiarity with dog training methods or equine care is a plus.
Experience working in kennels
Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with team members and pet owners.
Ability to handle various types of animals safely and compassionately.
