Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Lower Elementary Montessori Guide to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about elementary development and Montessori philosophy, with a strong background in curriculum development, classroom management, and working with young children. This role involves guiding students through their learning journey in a nurturing environment that promotes independence, curiosity, and academic excellence. The Lead Montessori Guide will also mentor assistant teachers and collaborate with parents to support each child's growth and development.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement an engaging, age-appropriate Montessori curriculum tailored to lower elementary students.
Plan and execute daily lesson plans that foster literacy, math, science, social studies, and physical education skills.
Create a supportive classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and respect for others.
Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive behavior management techniques.
Assess student progress through observations, formative assessments, and benchmark testing when appropriate.
Maintain detailed records of student development and communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress.
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency in teaching practices and curriculum delivery.
Mentor assistant teachers and support staff to uphold high standards of classroom management and instructional quality.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and promote child welfare within the classroom setting.
Engage in ongoing professional development related to early lower elementary education, special education, early intervention, and Montessori methods.

Skills

Extensive knowledge of childhood development theories and Montessori pedagogy.
Proven experience working with children in early elementary settings, including classroom management and lesson planning.
Strong curriculum development skills across literacy education, math, science, social studies, and physical education.
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with parents, colleagues, and students.
Ability to adapt teaching strategies for diverse learners including those requiring additional support such as tutoring or special education services.
Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and assessment tools for elementary students.
Demonstrated ability to create an inclusive learning environment that fosters curiosity and independence.
Experience working in Montessori schools and is mandatory. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young learners by fostering a love of learning within a nurturing Montessori environment.
