Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced construction professional with proven experience in project management, estimating, and business development within the commercial construction industry. The ideal candidate will have strong ties and experience to the local Utah market. This role will include both project management and estimating responsibilities and will oversee assigned projects from preconstruction through project completion. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, have proven experience in leading teams, and unwavering high ethical standards.

Estimating Duties

Prepare accurate and timely estimates for various bid types including hard bid, negotiated, GMP, CMGC and other project delivery methods.
Thoroughly review all bid documents and bid requirements.
Prepare preliminary and conceptual budgeting estimates.
Create and solicit ITB's for bidding projects to qualified subcontractors and suppliers as dictated by project scope.
Create and prepare documents for owner requested RFP's and SOQ's.
Perform quantity material takeoffs.
Attend pre-bid meetings and job walks.
Seek out and establish new business development opportunities.

Project Management Duties

Overall project leadership and direct profit and loss responsibility for assigned projects. Work with site superintendents to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and exceed industry quality standards.
Establish project budget and lead project buyout process including review of subcontractor scopes, issuing NTP's, and creation of formal subcontract/PO documents.
Work with the site superintendent and subcontractors to establish baseline CPM construction schedule.
Establish submittal log and oversee submittal review and timely processing.
Issue RFIs and track responses. As applicable, work with the project team to issue proposed recommendations as part of initial RFI.
Oversee the change management process and prepare accurate and timely COP's.
Oversee project closeout process to ensure projects are closed out in an efficient and timely manner.
Effectively market and promote the Northway brand and seek out new business opportunities.
Act as the main point of contact for project owners and exhibit extraordinary customer service skills.
Mentor and train junior level employees.

Business Development Duties

Build and maintain positive client, owner, architect, and subcontractor relationships.
Generate leads for upcoming projects and potential clients.
Participate in strategic planning with company leadership to establish target clients, markets, project types and annual revenue goals.

Experience

Proven experience with both project management and estimating within the commercial construction industry is required.
