About the Job
Digital Harbor is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Full Stack Engineer / Developer to join our growing product development team. This role is ideal for a developer with a strong foundation in modern JavaScript development who is ready to continue building their technical depth while contributing to real-world, production-facing applications.
You will work across our technology stack, with a particular emphasis on front-end development, to develop new features, improve existing applications, troubleshoot issues, and help ensure our products remain scalable, stable, and performant. You will collaborate closely with frontend and backend engineers, QA, and other cross-functional team members to deliver high-quality software.
We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, takes ownership of their work, and is comfortable learning new technologies in a collaborative Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain features and enhancements for scalable web applications.
- Build responsive, reusable, component-based user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks, with Angular preferred.
- Write clean, maintainable JavaScript and TypeScript code using modern development practices.
- Integrate frontend applications with REST APIs, backend services, shared libraries, and other internal or third-party services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve bugs and production issues across applications.
- Investigate application performance issues and help improve load times, responsiveness, and overall product stability.
- Collaborate with frontend, backend, QA, product, and other cross-functional teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Participate in peer code reviews and incorporate feedback to continuously improve code quality.
- Contribute to technical discussions, engineering decisions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Use Git-based version control and participate in established CI/CD and deployment processes.
- Help identify and reduce technical debt while maintaining compatibility across applications and shared components.
- Support the integration and maintenance of shared libraries across products.
- Write and maintain appropriate technical documentation.
- Participate in Agile development practices, including planning, refinement, standups, and iterative feature delivery.
- Take increasing ownership of features and technical challenges as experience and familiarity with our products grow.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools and coding assistants to support software development, debugging, testing, documentation, and problem-solving while maintaining strong engineering judgment, code quality, security, and established development standards.
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of professional software development experience, ideally working on web-based applications or software products.
- Strong working knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
- Experience with at least one modern frontend framework such as Angular, React, or Vue, with Angular strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of HTML5 and CSS3.
- Experience consuming and integrating REST APIs.
- Experience using Git or similar version-control tools in a collaborative development environment.
- Familiarity with modern frontend build tools such as Webpack or Vite.
- Strong web debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Understanding of component-based application architecture.
- Familiarity with web performance best practices and techniques for improving application performance.
- Experience working within an Agile software development environment.
- Understanding of core software engineering concepts, including maintainable code, testing, code reviews, and software development best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and an interest in using emerging AI technologies to improve development efficiency, code quality, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
The following experience is helpful but not required:
- Experience with Go (Golang).
- Experience with Node.js or other server-side development technologies.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated build or deployment processes.
- Experience working with WebSockets or other real-time application technologies.
- Experience with application performance profiling and optimization.
- Exposure to backend development and API development.
- Experience working with distributed systems or applications that share common libraries and services.
- Experience working within a SaaS, software product, or technology company.
- Experience incorporating AI coding assistants and AI-powered development tools, such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar technologies, into day-to-day software development workflows.
