Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing therapy sessions tailored to individual patient needs, including modalities such as trigger point therapy.
- Prepare treatment areas and ensure all equipment is sanitized and ready for use, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
- Support patient care activities by monitoring vital signs, documenting progress, and reporting any concerns or changes in condition promptly.
- Educate patients and their families on therapy exercises, post-treatment care, and discharge instructions to promote continued recovery at home.
- Participate in discharge planning processes by coordinating with healthcare teams to ensure seamless transitions from hospital to home or other care settings.
- Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, patient responses, and treatment plans in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
- Stay informed about current physiotherapy techniques and medical terminology to enhance the quality of care provided.
Experience
- Prior experience working in inpatient or outpatient physiotherapy settings is highly desirable.
- Skilled nursing facility experience or home health care background is a plus.
- Familiarity with a variety of therapeutic techniques including trigger point therapy, orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and acute care environments.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and care plan development to support effective treatment delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to achieve patient-centered goals.
- Experience with discharge planning processes and managing care plans for diverse patient populations is advantageous.
