Full Job Description

Position Summary

CBiBank, is seeking an experienced Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) to lead and oversee the Bank’s Compliance and BSA/AML Compliance Program. The successful candidate will serve as the primary compliance leader responsible for ensuring adherence to applicable federal and Puerto Rico banking regulations, maintaining effective regulatory relationships, and fostering a strong culture of compliance throughout the organization.

This position requires regular interaction with the Office of the Commissioner of Financial Institutions (OCIF), regulatory examiners, external auditors, and senior management. The role is based on-site in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Bank’s Compliance Management System (CMS) and BSA/AML Compliance Program.
Develop and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Serve as the primary liaison with OCIF and other regulatory authorities during examinations, inquiries, and ongoing supervisory activities.
Ensure compliance with applicable Puerto Rico and U.S. banking laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance.
Advise executive management and the Board of Directors on regulatory developments and compliance risks.
Oversee AML, sanctions, KYC/CDD/EDD, suspicious activity monitoring, and regulatory reporting programs.
Develop and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Conduct compliance risk assessments and monitor remediation activities.
Provide compliance training across the organization.
Coordinate compliance-related audits, examinations, and regulatory responses.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum 10 years of compliance, BSA/AML, risk management, or regulatory experience within a bank, international financial entity, credit institution, or regulated financial services organization.
Demonstrated experience working directly with financial regulators and regulatory examinations.
Strong knowledge of BSA/AML, OFAC, USA PATRIOT Act, KYC, sanctions compliance, and financial crime regulations.
Experience interacting with Puerto Rico financial regulatory authorities, including OCIF, is strongly preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
English required; Spanish proficiency highly preferred.
Must be legally authorized to work and reside in Puerto Rico without current or future employer sponsorship and be available to perform duties on-site as required by the Company and applicable regulatory expectations.
Being able to successfully complete background screening and satisfy all regulatory suitability requirements applicable to a regulated financial institution.

Pay: $49,147.13 - $59,187.94 per year
