Full Job Description

SUMMARY

The Engineering Technology Associate will support the company's technology and engineering initiatives through the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of software applications, technology solutions, automation processes, geospatial applications, and drone-based data collection systems. This position will work closely with engineering, project management, and administrative personnel to enhance operational efficiency, data management, reporting capabilities, and project delivery.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assist with the development, maintenance, and improvement of technology solutions, databases, dashboards, reporting tools, and software applications utilized throughout the company.
Support the administration and maintenance of software platforms used for project management, document management, and business operations, including Procore, Deltek, Cosential, SharePoint, and other company systems.
Assist in the collection, processing, analysis, and management of project-related data.
Support Geographic Information Systems (GIS) activities, including mapping, spatial data management, data visualization, and geospatial analysis.
Assist with the integration and management of engineering, construction, and geospatial data within company systems and software platforms.
Support drone (UAV) operations and data processing activities, including imagery, orthomosaics, point clouds, and related deliverables.
Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, metrics, data visualizations, scripts, and automation tools to support project teams and management decision-making.
Assist in the implementation of automation initiatives designed to improve workflows, efficiency, and data management processes.
Support construction inspection, infrastructure management, and engineering-related technology initiatives.
Assist with the development and maintenance of scripts, queries, software tools, and system integrations used to improve operational processes and reporting capabilities.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance related to technology systems, software applications, and databases.
Prepare technical documentation, procedures, reports, user guides, and presentations as required.
Coordinate with project teams and various departments to identify opportunities for technology improvements and process enhancements.
Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and recommend solutions that support company operations and engineering projects.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

COMPETENCIES

Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish (verbally and in writing).
Possesses excellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Ability to learn new technologies, software applications, and business systems.
Knowledge of engineering technology concepts, data management, and information systems.
Ability to analyze and interpret technical, operational, and geospatial data.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture is a must.

QUALIFICATIONS/ CERTIFICATIONS

Preferred:

Familiarity with ArcGIS or other Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software.
Familiarity with Procore Construction Management Software or similar project management platforms.
Familiarity with AutoCAD or other engineering software applications.
Familiarity with Power BI or other business intelligence and data visualization tools.
Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Python, SQL, JavaScript, C#, or similar.
Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, etc.).
Familiarity with SharePoint or other document management systems.
Exposure to drone/UAV technology, photogrammetry, or geospatial data processing through coursework, internships, or academic projects.
FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification is a plus, but not required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Science, Geomatics Engineering, Civil Engineering (with technology focus), or a related technical field.
Entry-level position.
Internship experience, academic projects, or related technical experience is preferred.
Valid Puerto Rico Driver's License.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
