About Live It Cannabis
Live It Cannabis is a leading indoor cannabis cultivation company dedicated to producing high-quality products throughout Puerto Rico. Our cultivation facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and relies on sophisticated electrical, HVAC, environmental, and mechanical systems to maintain ideal growing conditions.
We are looking for an experienced maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex systems, solving problems, and taking ownership of repairs that keep our operation running efficiently.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Electrical & HVAC Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities Maintenance team.
This is not an entry-level position and is not a training position. We are looking for someone who already has the technical knowledge and hands-on experience to independently diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial electrical and HVAC systems with minimal supervision.
Our facility operates primarily on 480V three-phase electrical systems and relies on commercial environmental equipment to support cultivation. Equipment includes 15-ton and 20-ton Carrier HVAC units, Quest 506 and 746commercial dehumidifiers, irrigation systems, pumps, electrical panels, lighting systems, environmental controls, automation equipment, and backup diesel generators. The facility also contains standard 120V single-phase circuits serving office and common areas.
The successful candidate should be comfortable being assigned a maintenance issue, identifying the root cause, completing the repair correctly, testing the system, and returning it to service without requiring step-by-step instruction.
You will work closely with our Facilities Maintenance team and Diesel Generator Mechanic to ensure all critical systems remain operational.
Primary Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial electrical systems throughout the cultivation facility.
- Troubleshoot electrical shorts, breakers, relays, contactors, switches, lighting circuits, electrical panels, transformers, and control systems.
- Diagnose, service, repair, disassemble, and reassemble commercial HVAC equipment, including 15-ton and 20-ton Carrier units and mini-split systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot Quest 506 and Quest 746 commercial dehumidifiers and environmental control equipment.
- Troubleshoot irrigation systems, pumps, motors, timers, sensors, controllers, and other electrically operated equipment.
- Assist with the maintenance and troubleshooting of backup diesel generators when required.
- Perform preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
- Respond quickly and effectively to equipment failures and restore systems to normal operation.
- Read electrical diagrams, wiring schematics, and equipment documentation when diagnosing problems.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate repairs performed.
- Follow all company safety procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Assist with other facility maintenance projects as business needs require.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience in commercial electrical maintenance, HVAC service, industrial maintenance, or a closely related field.
- Experience troubleshooting 480V three-phase electrical systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to work independently.
- Experience servicing commercial HVAC equipment, rooftop units, package units, or similar commercial systems.
- Experience with electrical panels, breakers, contactors, relays, motors, pumps, lighting systems, control circuits, and automated equipment.
- Experience with commercial dehumidification equipment is a plus.
- Experience with diesel generators or backup power systems is preferred.
- Electrical license or technical certifications are preferred but not required if you possess equivalent hands-on experience.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus, but not required.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- Must successfully pass the Puerto Rico Cannabis Department background check.
Schedule & Availability
This position is primarily Monday through Friday. However, because our cultivation facility operates 24/7/365, maintenance and equipment failures do not always occur during standard business hours.
Candidates must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime, and emergency call-ins when business needs require.
If you are only interested in working a fixed Monday-Friday schedule or are not willing to work outside normal business hours when necessary, please do not apply.
