This position is Full time/School Year, M-Th 6:45-5:15 (Morning, Noon, and PM bus routes)- CDL not required

Objective:
To provide safe transportation for children, parents and staff and to provide assistance in assuring that the classroom and educational environment supports the mission, policies and procedures of CCCC and the specific program to which he/she is assigned.
Qualifications:
Valid Washington Driver’s License and proof of insurance.
Yearly driving records needed.
Must be 21 years of age
A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential awarded by the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition or a Washington State ECE Initial Certification (the equivalent of 12 college quarter credits in early childhood education). Employees may be provisionally hired and put on a professional development plan describing how the employee will meet qualifications within 5 years.
Disqualifying conditions According to WAC 392-144-103:
Having been convicted of any of the following motor vehicle violations within the last five years:
(a) Three or more speeding tickets, including driving too fast for conditions;
(b) Hit and run driving;
(c) Vehicular assault;
(d) Vehicular homicide;
(e) Driving while intoxicated;
(f) Being in physical control of motor vehicle while intoxicated;
(g) Negligent driving in the first degree; Any motor vehicle violation agreed to during a court proceeding as a result of an alcohol related driving infraction.
Job Requirements:
1. Pass a DCYF and WATCH criminal background check.
2. Must be able to relate positively to children, staff and parents.
3. Must be able to speak and understand the English language.
4. Receive a current TB screening and complete a physical examination, which verifies physical constraint job requirements. (Physical constraints required include the ability to hear a conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid, the ability to see and read newsprint with or without corrective lenses, to speak and be understood under normal circumstances, and to use arms and legs and feet with or without corrective devices to accomplish the job. This includes evacuation of the building during emergencies).
5. Fulfill all job training requirements i.e. First Aid / CPR, Blood borne pathogens.
6. Basic computer skills.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Drive the bus or car in a safe manner and consistent with all policies and procedures of CCCC.
- Daily Bus Pre-trip safety checks.
- Monthly Car safety checks on all CCCC vehicles.
- Maintenance of all Center vehicles, i.e. clean inside and outside monthly, service maintenance inspections, licenses, tabs, brakes, etc.
- Understand and use positive guidance techniques and active supervision with children and monitors
- Communicate regularly with transportation monitors.
- Conduct bus evacuation drills.
- Document passengers and travel at each use.
- Complete all required paperwork and reports.
- Help plan bus routes.
- Responsible for the Center’s recycling
- Conducts limited snow removal at GHW center.
- Give breaks/support in classrooms daily.
- Use positive guidance techniques and active supervision consistently in classroom
Environment/Health and Safety:
- Assist with classroom sanitation (bleaching tables, clean-up, dusting, sweeping, etc.). This includes maintaining the storage rooms and the outdoor play environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Lead Teacher, in all areas of service.
- Be prepared to work as a team and be willing to communicate problems to the Lead Teacher.
- Be knowledgeable of health policies that includes, but are not limited to: medication administration, allergies, first aid kits, emergency/evacuation plan, sanitation/hygiene, accident reports, etc.
CCCC Program Support:
- Sustain overall program operations by providing assistance as needed in other classrooms, bus monitoring, kitchen assistance, housekeeping duties, and administrative assistance (perform other duties as assigned).
- Participate in recommended meetings, bi-monthly classroom activities, trainings and conferences to maintain current knowledge of early childhood development.
- Participate in program committees and program wide events and activities.
- Must represent CCCC in a professional manner throughout the community.

- Assure that all records and information concerning children, staff and families Is kept confidential.
- Promote clear and constant communication between all staff members and program managers.
