Full Job Description

Whitman Medical Group is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Primary Care physician (Internal Medicine or Meds-Peds) to join its collaborative, mission-driven team in Colfax, Washington. This is a long-standing and well established independent group where physicians have the autonomy to truly provide personalized care in order to foster better relationships and patient outcomes.

This is a full-scope Primary Care role that includes outpatient, inpatient and ER backup. Limited OB opportunities are available if desired, but fully optional.

Position Details:

Full‑scope Primary Care position with mix of inpatient and outpatient care
Desirable weekday schedule
1:6 call rotation supported by a collegial group of physicians and APPs
Strong clinical infrastructure including CT, MRI, lab, general surgery, orthopedics, GI, urology, and more
Well established independent group that offers physicians the autonomy to provide truly personalized care
Highly supportive and collaborative team environment
Opportunity to teach future rural Family Medicine physicians is available
OB opportunities are available if desired, but not required
Competitive salary, robust benefits, and eligibility for Washington state loan repayment

Compensation & Benefits:

First year guaranteed salary of $320,000 inclusive
Up to $20,000 signing bonus
Full benefits package includes health, dental, retirement, malpractice, and more
Production incentives are available

Qualifications & Requirements:

Must be a board-certified/board-eligible Internal Medicine or Meds-Peds physician (MD/DO)
Open to Family Medicine physicians as well
Licensed in the state of Washington
Must have or be able to obtain BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, and NRP certification
Both experienced candidates and new graduates are welcome to apply

Whitman Hospital and Medical Clinics (WHMC) anchors healthcare in the region with a strong community focus. As a 25‑bed critical access hospital supported by a 6‑bed emergency department, WHMC provides essential inpatient and emergency services close to home. Its network includes four clinics — the main Colfax clinic and three satellite locations — expanding access across the area. Together, these facilities offer a wide range of services, including primary care, specialty care, imaging, behavioral health and more.
