Full Job Description

Extruder operator 3rd shift
South Grafton, MA

Are you ready to take your mechanical skills to the next level? Our client is seeking a dedicated Extruder Operator to join their team on the 3rd shift. In this role, you'll be at the heart of wire and cable production, ensuring quality and efficiency while collaborating with a dynamic team.

Responsibilities of the Extruder operator 3rd shift

Set up, operate, and dismantle extrusion equipment for wire and cable production.
Monitor product quality to ensure it meets specifications and is defect-free.
Complete production documentation and input data into SAP systems.
Adhere to ISO procedures and safety standards to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Perform basic equipment maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and product specifications.
Use measuring tools to inspect finished products and support quality checks.
Troubleshoot equipment and process issues using mechanical and process knowledge.
Adjust machine parameters to maintain process control and optimize performance.
Identify root causes of defects and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure efficient production flow and product transfer.
Support continuous improvement efforts focused on yield, scrap reduction, and efficiency.
Recognize abnormal conditions and escalate with recommended solutions.

Requirements of the Extruder operator 3rd shift

Experience operating equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret specifications, blueprints, and work instructions.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
Experience in wire and cable manufacturing is a plus.
Two (2) years or more manufacturing experience in a production environment preferred.
Experience using measuring tools for inspection and quality control.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles is advantageous.

This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
