The Dental Clinic Support Technician (Instruction & Classroom Support Technician 2) position is responsible for supporting, managing, and documenting infection control and clinic business compliance processes. Duties include performing maintenance of dental equipment and minor repairs, as well as researching and informing the Program Director of any new laws or regulations that may affect the dental hygiene clinic. This position tracks compliance and assists in maintaining the Quality Assurance Plan and risk management processes for the dental hygiene clinic.
The role also documents equipment maintenance, completes minor repairs, and facilitates scheduling of third-party maintenance and repairs according to established procedures and techniques. In addition, the Instruction & Classroom Support Technician 2 assists the Clinic Manager with inventory and ordering of supplies, by performing inventory control functions through both manual and computerized tracking systems.
Additionally, this position oversees student compliance with sterilization of dental instruments in accordance with Pierce College Dental Hygiene Standards of Operation and applicable local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
The Instruction & Classroom Support Technician 2 will participate actively in departmental requirements, including mandatory reporting to third-party accrediting agencies such as the Commission on Dental Accreditation, annual safety compliance, and other related responsibilities, including compliance review and program design. This position reports to the Dental Hygiene Program Director and works jointly with the Clinic Manager to ensure the effective operation of the dental clinic and laboratories. Additional duties include serving on campus or community committees as related to job responsibilities. This position requires regular and consistent attendance.

Terms of Employment
This is a full-time (40 hours per week) classified, overtime-eligible position with Pierce College District. This position is permanent after serving a 6-month probationary period. The primary work location will be at Pierce College, Fort Steilacoom campus. The regular work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Work hours may be adjusted with advance notice to meet departmental, instructional, or operational needs. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Occasional travel for training is also required. Regular and consistent attendance is required.
Salary & Benefits
The salary range for this position is $52,872.00 - $62,880.00 annually, depending on qualifications, with periodic increments up to $64,512.00 annually.
However, your paycheck is just part of the total compensation package. There is an outstanding benefits package which is worth an additional value equivalent to about 30% of your salary. Physical Work Environment
This position works indoors in a Dental Clinic with potential exposure to microbial and chemical substances. This position requires the ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds, climb a ladder, bend, kneel, and reach overhead.
