Full Job Description

Mercedes-Benz of Alexandria is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Body Shop Estimator to join our team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers needing collision repairs, accurately assessing vehicle damage, preparing estimates, and coordinating repairs with our skilled technicians. Your expertise will ensure seamless communication between customers, insurance companies, and our service team to deliver outstanding results. Duties

Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to identify all necessary repairs, including auto body repair, mechanical work, and component replacements
Prepare detailed and accurate repair estimates using industry-standard estimating software and auto estimating tools
Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair scope, costs, and timelines to ensure transparency and customer satisfaction
Collaborate with insurance adjusters to facilitate claims processing and approval of repairs
Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs, monitor progress, and ensure quality control throughout the repair process
Upsell additional services such as alignments, suspension work, tire services, oil changes, brake repairs, shocks & struts, air brake systems, diesel engine repairs, transmissions, and other automotive diagnostics
Handle customer inquiries professionally while maintaining a positive attitude and promoting dealership services

Requirements

Reynolds & Reynolds experience preferred but not required.
Proven dealership experience or auto service management background preferred
Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and repair procedures including oil changes, brake repair, suspension work, tire service, and transmission repairs
Familiarity with auto estimating software and service writing processes
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
Ability to upsell additional services confidently while maintaining integrity
Mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems such as air brakes, alignments, shocks & struts, diesel engines, and automotive repair techniques
Experience in auto body repair or collision estimating is highly desirable
Cash handling experience and basic sales skills are advantageous
