Technical Curriculum Developer (semi-conductor) / Contract / Remote
Position Overview
We are seeking a technically minded Technical Curriculum Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable training solutions for skilled trades in semiconductor manufacturing (wafer fabrication, assembly/test, and packaging) and advanced manufacturing environments.
This role is ideal for a technical translator someone who can deconstruct complex semiconductor processes and equipment systems and transform them into structured, engaging, and high-quality learning experiences. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in electrical systems, instrumentation, and PLC/controls, along with working knowledge of vacuum technology, gas and chemical delivery systems, and integrated mechanical infrastructure that supports semiconductor fabrication facilities.
You understand how fab tools and facility systems operate and can effectively teach others how to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot them in cleanroom environments.
Contract Duration: 6-12 Months with potential for conversion
Compensation: $45-48/hr W2
Location: Fully Remote

Key Responsibilities Curriculum Design & Content Development (70%)
Module Creation
- Develop interactive digital learning modules using Articulate 360 (Storyline and Rise) and Google Workspace.
- Integrate learning content into Canvas LMS.
- Design scalable and engaging learning experiences for technical audiences.
Technical Documentation
- Create:
- Instructor manuals
- Lesson plans
- Facilitation guides
- Learner workbooks
- Develop clear, step-by-step instructional content for topics such as:
- Wafer handling
- Preventive maintenance (PM)
- Process troubleshooting
- Equipment operation and maintenance
Visual & Multimedia Development
- Design technical diagrams, videos, animations, and interactive demonstrations.
- Help learners visualize complex or unseen processes, including:
- Plasma etch
- Thin-film deposition
- Vacuum system behavior
- Gas and chemical flow
Hands-On Lab Design
- Develop practical labs, diagnostic exercises, and performance-based assessments covering:
- Electrical systems
- Vacuum systems
- Semiconductor equipment maintenance
- Ensure all training materials include robust:
- Cleanroom safety protocols
- Hazardous materials documentation
- Risk mitigation procedures
Curriculum Architecture
- Convert technical competencies into progressive learning pathways.
- Build curricula that advance from foundational concepts to advanced troubleshooting, including:
- Semiconductor fundamentals
- Fab process flow
- Equipment systems
- Process diagnostics and troubleshooting
Curriculum Maintenance & Continuous Improvement (20%)
Continuous Improvement
- Gather and synthesize feedback from learners, instructors, and subject matter experts (SMEs).
- Identify knowledge gaps and continuously improve curriculum effectiveness.
Content Lifecycle Management
- Maintain existing course content.
- Add, update, and retire materials based on:
- Industry trends
- Equipment generations
- Technology advancements
- Workforce needs
Governance & Version Control
- Maintain detailed technical documentation and revision histories.
- Ensure consistency and quality across multiple training sites and national programs.
Program Support & Collaboration (10%)
Instructor Enablement
- Develop instructor onboarding materials and training resources.
- Create technical reference guides, job aids, and troubleshooting resources for instructors.
Cross-Functional Support
- Contribute to program descriptions and technical marketing content.
- Support recruitment initiatives and external partnership development efforts.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- 1-3 years of experience in:
- Technical instructional design, or
- Technical training content development
- 1-3 years of experience in:
- Semiconductor manufacturing
- Advanced manufacturing
- Electrical, electromechanical, or industrial equipment maintenance environments
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn and communicate complex concepts.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to facilitate live virtual sessions (e.g., Zoom) and in-person training.
