Full Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Trainer will develop and deliver training programs aimed at educating community members, staff, peer educators and volunteers on topics related to HIV/AIDS, substance use, harm reduction, and related health issues. The Trainer will work closely with program managers and other stakeholders to ensure that training materials are current, relevant, and impactful.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop Training Programs: Create comprehensive training programs that address HIV/AIDS, substance use, harm reduction, and related health topics.
Curriculum Development: Develop, design, and implement curriculum and training materials for staff and peer educators to enhance knowledge, skills, and program effectiveness.
Deliver Training Sessions: Conduct engaging and informative training sessions for diverse audiences, including community members, staff, and volunteers.
Evaluate Training Effectiveness: Assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, surveys, and performance metrics, and make necessary adjustments.
Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work with program managers, health professionals, and community partners to ensure training content is accurate and up to date.
Resource Development: Develop and distribute educational materials, such as handouts, presentations, and online resources.
Stay Informed: Keep abreast of the latest research, trends, and best practices in HIV/AIDS, substance use, and harm reduction.
Coordination and Facilitation: Trainer will be responsible for delivering training on a variety of topics, including but not limited to: diverse topics, including but not limited harm reduction, risk reduction, chronic conditions, etc.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in public health, Education, Social Work, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in training, curriculum development, education, or a related field, preferably within a community health setting.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of HIV/AIDS, substance use, harm reduction, and related health issues. Trainer will have knowledge of the Ending the Epidemic initiative, HIV/AIDS, experience with data entry electronic health record systems, training, must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as strong coordination and organizational skills.
Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage and motivate diverse audiences.
Certifications: Relevant certifications in health education, Recovery Coach Professional Designation/Facilitator training are a plus.

Other Duties:

Attend monthly agency staff meetings, unit meetings and supervisory meetings.
Attend a minimum of two agency events for clients (e.g., Holiday Party, PREP Grad, etc.) every 12-month period, and attend a minimum of one agency fundraising event (e.g., AIDS Walk) every 12-month period
Other duties as required to meet the mission of the agency and/or Peer Workforce, Trainings & Interventions Service Bucket

Pay: $65,000.00 per year
