About the Role
As an EKG Technician at Quincy Medical Group, you will play an important role in supporting cardiovascular diagnostic services by performing electrocardiogram (EKG) and ankle-brachial index (ABI) examinations. Working closely with providers, nurses, and other clinical team members, you will obtain accurate diagnostic data, prepare studies for interpretation, and help ensure patients receive timely, high-quality care. Schedule & Work Environment

Full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.

Clinical diagnostic testing environment with regular patient interaction.
Primary Responsibilities

Verify patient identifiers and obtain relevant medical history prior to testing.

Explain testing procedures to patients to promote understanding, comfort, and cooperation.

Prepare patients for testing and accurately place electrodes and monitoring equipment according to established protocols.

Perform electrocardiogram (EKG) examinations and obtain high-quality diagnostic recordings.

Perform ankle-brachial index (ABI) examinations utilizing blood pressure cuffs, monitoring devices, and ultrasound technology.

Monitor patient condition and well-being during testing and promptly communicate abnormal findings to the ordering provider.

Adjust equipment settings according to patient needs and established testing protocols.

Prepare completed exams for interpretation and ensure timely transmission to reading providers.

Communicate effectively with providers, nurses, and clinical staff regarding patient concerns and testing results.

Collaborate with laboratory, imaging, and clinical teams to coordinate patient care and diagnostic testing needs.

Maintain cleanliness, functionality, and readiness of diagnostic equipment and coordinate maintenance as needed.

Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational privacy standards.

Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record.

Perform other duties as assigned to support diagnostic testing operations.
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

Current BLS certification, including AED and adult/pediatric CPR, required.

Certified Medical Assistant credential preferred; non-certified candidates with related healthcare experience will be considered.

Previous EKG experience preferred but not required.

Knowledge of medical terminology and basic anatomy preferred.

Strong communication and patient service skills.

Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.

Experience with electronic medical records preferred.

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $16.12 - $24.18, with actual pay determined by experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity.
Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
