Position Summary: The Sales Manager to play a key leadership role responsible for driving profitable revenue growth, expanding market presence, and leading a high-performance sales team at Roofed Right America LLC. We are seeking a dynamic professional who can blend strategic sales leadership with essential technical acumen, ensuring exceptional client engagement and consistent achievement of sales and profit margin objectives. The Sales Manager will cultivate strong relationships (internally and externally), optimize sales processes, and contribute strategically to our profitability and long-term goals.

The Blueprint for Success - Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Sales Leadership & Growth

Lead, coach, and motivate a high-performance sales team to achieve and consistently exceed revenue targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Develop and execute strategic sales plans to expand market share and drive profitability across regional and national sales initiatives.
Continually analyze and refine the sales process for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Business Development & Client Engagement

Identify, research, and generate new leads through diverse methods including networking, referrals, and leveraging online platforms.
Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing and potential commercial clients and key stakeholders.
Proactively address escalated client inquiries, concerns, or objections in a professional and timely manner, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills for internal and external communication. Strong ability to negotiate complex contracts, address client objections effectively, and close high-value deals.

Sales Process Optimization & Reporting

Collaborate cross-functionally to establish robust sales reporting frameworks, ensuring accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and performance tracking.
Contribute strategic insights and recommendations to organizational planning, including market and competitor analysis, to identify growth opportunities and refine sales strategies.
Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and consistently results-driven with a proven track record of exceeding objectives. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple priorities, sales pipelines, and cost databases.
Strong analytical thinking and business management skills, with a demonstrated ability to solve complex problems. Open-minded and adaptable to changing market conditions and client needs.

Technical Sales & Proposal Management

Conduct comprehensive roof surveys, assess client requirements, and collect essential data (measurements, photos) for detailed proposal development.
Collaborate closely with estimating and pre-construction teams to develop accurate, competitive, and technically sound proposals and bids, providing strategic input and client insights.
Review and validate project scope, technical specifications, and cost estimates to ensure alignment with client needs and sales strategy.
Provide technical support and guidance to sales personnel as required, assisting in the preparation of inquiries and final bids.

Compliance & Safety Oversight

Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing company standards and procedures, complying with all legal regulations.
Ensure all sales activities and site visits adhere strictly to company policies, OSHA rules, and industry specifications.

Team Leadership & Development:

Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of commercial roofing sales professionals.
Proven ability to lead, coach, and inspire sales professionals to achieve ambitious targets. Strong decision-making capabilities, results-orientation, and a pragmatic, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and offer coaching and development opportunities to enhance individual and team capabilities.
Ensure all sales professionals are continuously trained on current roofing systems (e.g., TPO, EPDM, Modified Bitumen, PVC) and advanced repair & installation techniques.
Foster a proactive, customer-centric, and safety-conscious culture within the sales team

Tools for the Job:

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive Business-to-Business (B2B) sales experience, with at least 5 years in a sales leadership or management role.
Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in the commercial roofing or broader commercial construction industry.
Proven track record of consistently exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software (e.g., Salesforce, Hubspot).
Familiarity with estimating software (e.g., AccuLynx, The Edge Estimator) and project management tools is highly preferred.
Valid Driver's License

Preferred:

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
Experience with CRM or construction project management tools (e.g., Bluebeam, scheduling software, Acumatica).
Proven track record in business development or sales within a service-oriented construction environment.

Work Environment: This role involves a combination of office and field-based responsibilities. Regular site visits, including roof access and work in outdoor conditions, are required. Occasional travel to various project sites and availability for emergency service calls outside of standard business hours may be necessary.
