Health Unit Coordinator

This position is Monday- Friday

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Health Unit Coordinator to join our team at Medical Suites at Oak Creek in Wisconsin. As a Health Unit Coordinator, you will serve as a liaison between physicians, residents, and medical staff, providing excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our skilled nursing and rehabilitation community. If you are a motivated and compassionate individual with excellent communication and organizational skills, we encourage you to apply for this full-time position.

Responsibilities

Work as a liaison between physicians, residents, and medical staff to ensure effective communication and coordination of patient care
Compile residents' medical charts and schedule diagnostic tests and appointments
Transcribe physicians' orders, reports, and prescriptions accurately and efficiently
Assist with completing admission and discharge forms, as well as other administrative tasks as needed
Answer phones and transfer calls when necessary, providing excellent customer service to residents, families, and visitors
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and reports
Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the facility

Physical Requirements

Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day, using proper body mechanics to bend, stoop, turn, stretch, and reach above the shoulders
Must be able to cope with the mental, emotional, and physical stress of the position
Must be able to observe, listen, and communicate effectively
Must function independently, with flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, support agencies, and outside agencies
Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility

Qualifications

Good organizational and communication skills
Knowledge of standard precautions and use of protective instruments
Knowledge and high level of accuracy of medical terminology
Excellent computer skills
Knowledge of PCC helpful, but not required
Excellent customer service skills
