GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in human resources, education, business administration, communications, instructional design, safety, industrial technology, or related field, with at least five years of training experience and two years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing, regulated, safety-sensitive, or industrial environment; or an associate’s degree with at least eight years of related experience and two years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Must be able to receive clearance from Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE).
3. Must possess valid state driver’s license.
4. Must be able to read, speak, and understand English sufficiently to interpret safety instructions, training materials, work instructions, warning labels, regulatory materials, and employee training records.
5. Must have familiarity with modern and traditional training methods.
6. Requires excellent leadership and motivational skills.
7. Must have the ability to plan, manage time and multitask effectively.
8. Advanced database and computer skills required.
9. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.

GENERAL JOB DUTIES:
1. The Training Manager will identify and monitor training needs in the organization, and design, plan, and implement training programs, policies, and procedures to fulfill those needs for both Radford, VA and Delanson, NY facilities. Works closely with EHS&S, Security, Quality, Operations, Purchasing, and site leadership to ensure required training is developed, scheduled, delivered, documented, and maintained.
2. Manages performance, recognition, coaching, scheduling, and corrective action for direct reports in accordance with company policy. Communicates training-related performance, safety, quality, or conduct concerns involving non-direct reports to the appropriate supervisor, manager, or HR representative.
3. Ensures that training materials and programs are current, accurate, and effective.
4. Maintains knowledge of new methods and techniques for training, and training requirements applicable to the organization and/or industry which can enhance the company’s training procedures and provide value to the employees.
5. Identifies problems and opportunities such as operational changes or industry developments that training could generate higher productivity and safety among staff.
6. Conducts or facilitates required and recommended training sessions.
7. Collaborates with vendors and third-party training providers to arrange employee registration for and participation in outside training programs.
8. Ensures that training milestones and goals are met while adhering to approved training budget.
9. Ensure that staffing is appropriate for needs of business.
10. Supervise and/or deliver on-the-job skills training for new hires as needed.
11. Communicate training schedules to all stakeholders in a timely manner.
12. Oversee training sessions and ensure the Trainers and employees have all the tools and resources they need for success.
13. Responsible for maintaining accurate employee training records for compliance purposes.
14. Must be committed to ISO and the company's Quality Management System using process approach and risk-based thinking methodologies.
15. Ensure the Quality Policy and quality objectives are communicated to the Training Department, new hires and all employees.
16. Shares accountability for the effectiveness of the Quality Management System.
17. Ensure Training department is in compliance with ISO requirements.
18. Participate in Yearly Management Review of all ISO documentation as scheduled
19. Report any training issues and/or problems experienced by Trainers/trainees to management.
20. Oversee and assist in correcting safety and/or quality issues as found per trend analysis, experience with employees, and/or as reported to the Training Department by Trainers/supervision.
21. Work with Safety and Security to ensure all various safety related functions (i.e., audits, drills, safety program evaluations) as directed by the Director of EHS&S Compliance are conducted.
22. Responsible for the development of lessons for Basic Operator Training (BOT) for new employees.
23. Gather and prepare information needed for Weekly Staff Meeting presentation, Quarterly Management Reviews and Solicitations. Represent department at each meeting.
24. Work with Purchasing Manager to order personal protective clothing for newly hired employees.
25. Establish and maintain a positive human relations climate in the department utilizing good communication practices, expeditious handling of complaints and problems, consistency, and even-handed treatment of employees.

27. Approve time and attendance records and approve requests for Vacation / Personal days of staff.
28. Complete and administer scheduled Performance Reviews.

30. Ensure all necessary information is conveyed to Human Resource Department in a timely manner as it relates to department.
31. Obey all Company work and safety rules.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be able to stand or walk for 8 to 12 hours per shift.
2. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may include standing, walking production areas, climbing stairs, wearing required PPE, using a computer for extended periods, reviewing records, conducting classroom and hands-on training, and working in manufacturing or field environments as business needs require.
